We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Verronica Mitchell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Verronica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about how you’ve thought about whether to sign with an agent or manager?
The first time I signed with an agent was such a surreal but also rewarding experience. I had been trying for years and being over the age of 40 sometimes feel I was going against the grain with certain things but I just kept trying. I simply shifted my thoughts, my energy and what I was affirming and told myself that if this is what you love and want to pursue then you got to be in it for the long haul and I did.
I continued to work on my craft, network, and take classes and in one of those classes I discovered a talent agency. I said to myself what do I have to lose, so I submitted and was eventually signed! A year later, I decided that I wanted to try for another reputable agency that seemed would help my modeling/acting career. The crazy thing about it is that a MUA on a photoshoot that I was a part of told me about this agency years ago but I completely forgot. Fast forward, I submitted, had an interview and was accepted as a talent. Woohoo! I was literally on cloud 9. I always felt deep down that I could do it, it’s the waiting and the process that I really had to embrace.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am child of God who is a dreamer and loves life. I love pretty much anything with lemons and love to travel with my family. One of my favorite things to do is go to the movies and get popcorn and slushy. Yum!
I am also an Army veteran and 20 year Army military spouse. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 20 wonderful years and we have two fabulous teenagers. I have my MBA and currently work as a Senior Business Analyst.
I first started modeling in high school and I am over 40, so I been modeling for quite a while. I honestly do not remember what prompted me to start but I always loved fashion and turning any look into my own. I didn’t start breaking into the industry though until I was in my late 30’s turning 40. I literally won my first modeling walk off competition at the age of 40. I feel that I started to break into the industry because I changed my thinking, my energy towards what I wanted and I started to affirm what I wanted to attract. I call these components the T.E.A. Once I started sipping on sweet T.E.A., my professional modeling/acting career started to manifest in front of my eyes, one gig and commercial at a time. My last photoshoot was with AUDI. How amazing right!
My tag line is we’re already manifesting, so we might as well be intentional. It’s truly about being intentional about what we are doing, saying as well as our actions and it does takes discipline. It’s also about listening to our intuition to discern certain situations and taking inspired action when something feels right.
I offer a course for Women especially Women over 40 to help them tap into their manifesting superpower. The new course that launches on July 10th is called Unleash Your Manifesting Woman Superpower. I decided to build the course to help Women step into their superpower. They already have it, they just need it to be reignited and the course will do just that. There are so many beautiful Women who want to birth something but just can’t figure out how to do it and that’s where my course comes into play. I’m very excited to share my tips, hacks and everything in between to help other Women step into their superpower too!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think it’s freedom for me. It’s a beautiful outlet and I think we all need that in our lives. It’s the ability to not feel like I’m in a box. It’s the ability to be truly me and that’s such a freeing feeling.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
To create a movement of that you can create the life that you want by changing your mindset. Everything starts with self and it doesn’t matter what external factors are like and it doesn’t matter what your childhood or past was like. Everyone has the power to change the trajectory of their life by simply tweaking their mind and the thoughts that are on a loop.
