We were lucky to catch up with Cloud 9ine KO recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cloud 9ine , appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
There’s an old saying ” you’re not a real artist until you’ve dedicated/scarified at least ten thousand man hours:”. Time flies when you’re doing what you love. When you’re first starting out no one will take you serious…. MAKE THEM! Research and study everything you need to do to get yourself to the next level. In do time, you will go from novice to a self taught professional. Learning your craft is extremely important, if you don’t take yourself serious, then why should others?

Cloud 9ine , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
When I was a kid, my dad worked for one of the biggest music print shops in California. He would always bring home new records or cds. From The Temptations greatest hits collection all the way down to Tupac’s All Eyez on Me remastered. Growing up I was surrounded by different genres of music. That would later become one of the main reasons why I started doing music. From the stories, melodies and bass lines, I knew that one day I would start recording music of my own. Today, I am a songwriter and producer working with upcoming artists as well as working on my own music. I think that my charisma and dedication sets me apart from others. I stay original by not listening to any music these days, only the sounds as I produce. I am proud of how far I’ve come, starting out there was a lot of self doubt but being consistent and persistent got me to where I am today.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Honestly…. I haven’t really done my full research of NFTs, but from what I have seen and learned, it’s not something that I think i would invest in.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Within the last 5 years, I’ve lost at least 2 computers filled with unreleased music and beats. Losing music that you’ve worked hard on and recorded to your liking is honestly one of the worst feelings in the world. But the only way to get over it is to keep going. Practice makes perfect, so I ended up making better songs and beats. It taught me in the toughest times you have to keep pushing. No one is holding your hand in your journey to success.
