We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gina Lopez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Gina, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

My mission with Impreesive Glow Spray Tanning and Teeth Whitening training has been very simple from the beginning. I want to help women, moms, single mom, learn how to start a side hustle that could possible grow into something far bigger to allow them to grow financial independence. I have watched and have been a woman who has had to make life decisions based off my financial situation and not truly based on what mattered to me most. I never want to be in that situation again. I also don’t want other women to be in that situation. Taking xontrol over our finances is an esential part of independence.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I come from a very broken childhood, I moved a lot and watched my mom struggle financial for many many years. I watched her stay in situations that were not essentially the best for her and I vowed to myself that I wanted different for my life. I had a son at a very young age, 18, and all I did know how to do at that time was WORK, I worked 2-3 jobs at any given time. I had my daughter at 23 and still just worked, I tried starting other businesses and never really succeeded with them. Then in 2017 I became a single mom, and knew that I had a job that would support my children, but I would really just be treading water, it didn’t allow me to LIVE. So I decided I needed a side hustle, but I wanted it to be on my terms, I wanted it to be flexible, low investment, low maintenance and would pay me according to what I beleived I was worth! I really thought nothing out there existed that would give me all those things, unless I went to beauty school and invested a year of my life and $20,000 of debt. Then I found a girl on YouTube that was spray tanning! Being a former bed tanning addict, I thought this was an amazing opprtunity. I invested my tax money and pulled the trigger. It was a low investment (thinking back on it now), it was my business, I could work when I wanted around mine and my childrens schedule, and it was low maintenance!

I knew at some point I would want to train women, its in my nature to teach. I was actually pushed into it sooner than I was ready but it was the best thing possible! My original training program consisted of a 10 page training manual and some really cheap videos I recorded myself! 3 years later and I now have a 60 page training manual and I offer in person, group and 1 on 1 and online training for spray tanning and I have now included teeth whitening. I have trainined over 250 women, WORLDWIDE! Yes I have students from Canada, UK, Portugal and Saudi Arabia! Thats seems insane to even type that!

My mission is still the same, helping women build a business that provides financial independence and true choices! I have watched women use their inclome to pay off debt, go partime in their primary business, build amazing beauty businesses with full service menues and so much more! Just to be a little part of their success means everything to me.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Any one who owned a business during the Pandemic will tell you so many ways they had to pivot their business. I really had so much time to pour my heart and soul into trainign and making it the best program possible. I also had so many women understand that jobs they thought were “essential” really were ready to let them go at the drop of a hat. So many women were looking to start their own businesses and be in true control of their lives. Pivoting from offering more services myself and really building the training programs was such a great decision!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I always tell the story about my original investment into my business. I used my income tax return to pay for everything. Normally through the years, I would use that tax money as a “reward” to myself for surviving, I would go on a trip, I would buy myself clothes or shoes or just pay bills. This time I was trying very hard to shift my mindset into invest into myself for the long run. I remember getting that direct depoit in my bank account and immediatley sending that training deposit to my spray tan traininer. It took about 2 minutes for me to regret it!! I emailed her and actually asked for the money back! I thank god for her business policies to this day, NO RETURNS NO REFUNDS and NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT!
