We were lucky to catch up with Ana Torres recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ana , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The story behind Blessed Photography’s mission, is because time is way to short to think about how good we look, how much money we have or just breaking our back for decent family photos. Honestly, if Covid taught us anything was that time is too precious.
Before Covid, the goal was the same but I felt like I got overwhelm with competing with everyone and their prices. However, now. I don’t care if its with me or with another photographer. TAKE PICTURES WITH YOUR LOVED ONES! That is all I keep repeating. It breaks my heart when I go to a funeral and the picture they have of the one passing is one from years ago. Then you hear all those sad cries saying. I should of done this and that. That hurts to hear, so I keep telling over. Take yearly family photos! Capture your kids with your parents, take pictures with your parents. Time is too short.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Ana Torres. I became a photographer on 2016, I was already into the whole taking pictures business. My dream was to be a Hollywood paparazzi, take pictures of actors and stars. However, I was a paparazzi at my local church and in my high school. As I began my business, I wanted to bring to my clients a place where they didn’t have to worry much about the price but of actually making it happen. My business is all about one thing, freezing the moments that we value most. The sad, the happy and the moments that make us into the person we ought to become. Life is full of many things but the best part is the growth we experience.
I want to offer my clients the possibility for them to invest in moments they can pass along to their future generations. Yes, you can pass land, money or even an item. However, how do you pass down memories? In stories, tons of movies. How about a photograph of you and your family laughing. A moment where you have red eyes or you holding a smile as you look at a baby.
I am most proud of my business because I get to offer free services once in a while and guess what! I am the boss. I can do it, I can help those around me. So if you ever work with me, you’ll see I try and give the most opportunities to bless you and your family. Discounts, Free work or just a plan to help anyone who wants to photograph a special moment.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Photography was my side hustle until 2020 was hit with the pandemic plus a badly car accident that broke my right pelvis. I didn’t start walking until May 2020 and my job let me go along side my husband. I was devastated and nervous. How do I make my side hustle, the main provider for me and my family? I question it all. However, I opened a book and started booking session left and right. It took a minute to grow my business. I had to stay with my mission and still be able to grow my business.
Honestly, the main key for me was, be honest. In order to grow a business, invest in your growth and invest in your clients. However, stay honest. 2 years later, Ive grown so much not where I fully want to be however I’ve grown so much.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media is the best resource we have to spread our business. However, its truly tricky since it’s always changing and upgrading. It took a minute to grow my social media, at least Facebook seems a bit harder than Instagram. My biggest things is to post consistency and mainly focus on sharing what you truly love doing. Be transparent but don’t be so revealing. Be professional as always be someone people can look up too. My biggest advice is post every day, don’t get discourage and research techniques.
