We’ve been blown away by the examples of generosity and kindness that are at the heart of so many brands in the community. We asked some of the most giving entrepreneurs and leaders we know to tell us about how they think about the practice of donating a percentage of sales.

The main purpose of being a health and wellness advocate is to help others learn how to read their personal care products labels and make better choices for their families. I am an advocate and leader with Beautycounter. I also share tips and tricks that I have learned over the years from other cleaner companies besides Beautycounter with my clients. That is a service I provide for my Beautycounter clients. I donate a portion of every Beautycounter sale of products to the Siteman Cancer Center for the prevention and awareness of Ovarian Cancer. Our company is built upon the idea of giving back. Homeowners that use our platform to get projects done by off duty firefighters are also giving back to same people who are always there to protect them. At Hidrent, we wanted to find a way to give back as well. In November, 2021 we entered into a unique and strategic partnership with the International Association of Firefighters – Financial Corporation (IAFF-FC). Read more>>

When we founded FishSki Provisions we wanted our business to have a voice and a purpose. We bring easy to make southwestern foods to the market and with that we feel it necessary to support the outdoor adventures that inspire our flavors. At least 3% of every sale is donated to conservation and recreational access. Current and past support efforts have included stream restoration efforts by the Boulder FlyCasters Chapter of Trout Unlimited, trail restoration on Colorado high peaks, Colorado Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, Rio Grande watershed awareness, Native Rio Grande Cutthroat Trout reintroduction in Sand Dunes National Park, and Colorado Trout Unlimited’s Youth Camp. From the beginning, I knew Sweet Charity Clothing Co. had to be about more than just clothes. Don’t get me wrong: I love fashion, styling outfits, and the challenges of running a business, but at the end of the day, people are what matter. By donating 20% of our profits to charity, my motivation to push harder goes beyond making money or building my business. I consider giving back both a privilege and a responsibility, and I’m so grateful for every customer who chooses to join me in supporting such amazing organizations as Preemptive Love Coalition and Mercy Ships. It’s a win-win-win in my eyes! Read more>>

Giving back to the community is a hallmark of how I live my life. It is a personal choice to commit those resources I can, in terms of financial and time, to specific causes, as well as lend my voice as a leader in the community and my industry. While there are several areas of interest, chief among them are those charities that benefit children and animals along with those that inspire girls and women to become.. On an ongoing basis through my company and personal donations I support such entities as The Houston SPCA, Houston PetSet, Texas Children’s Hospital through their Ambassador’s Program as well as the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show and GirlStart. I have absolutely loved Manatees since I was a little girl, so I wrote a book about a one called “I’m a Manatee Happy to be ME!” This special story is sold at three of the Sea World parks today. I donate a portion of the proceeds to the rescue and care of manatees. We even have an adopted manatee named Annie that we sponsor in Florida. Read more>>

I am a huge animal lover so I have always felt it was important to donate to animal rescues. In recent years I have found that I have been able to do even more than just give back by creating awareness of the need to adopt versus purchasing a furry friend and also donating supplies. So many people want to do good and just do not know the resources out there. I have made it known that we always accept donations in our office and it is not uncommon for me to have a whole pile of donations in my garage ready for donation. It is so amazing to hear stories of clients who have donated or found a dog through my posts. Read more>>

Since pivoting during COVID to put a bigger emphasis on our own E-commerce website we’re very excited to offer all different colored containers which each supports a different non-profit. We’ve been told we should wait to give back until we’re a larger organization that can give bigger balloon payments but this is who we are and want to be as people and as a company. Our mission was always to create something that serves others and our planet and so we really wanted that mission to be ingrained in this company, with every win, in every sale. Read more>>

While my passion for writing is constantly boiling, I have discovered my innate desire to inspire others. Existing in a euphoric state of imagination has become my favorite compartment of life which is why I want to ensure that everyone has the tools to equip their own creativity. Through working with Reading is Fundamental, I was able to enlighten my community. I have spoken to over 2,500 kids across the valley about the importance of reading and writing and how they can join my mission in gifting writing utensils and materials to others who need them.
