Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stephanie Dalton. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Stephanie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
I work with one of the top illustration agencies in the U.S. Gerald + Cullen Rapp rappart.com
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started illustrating after attending a digital illustration conference in the mid 90’s in NYC. At the time i was a creative director for Arthur Anderson Technology Solutions. I was curious about specializing in visual art and signed up for the conference which turned out to be a pivotable moment in my career trajectory.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The difference between illustrating and fine art is that Illustrators deliver conceptual and compelling visuals to tell a story or solve a problem, whereas fine art is about conveying art for the purpose of creating a compelling environment in a home or business.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is being passionate about visual story telling. I enjoy creating a provocative image that invites the viewer into the storyline.
