In the beginning, I always had the pull to promote and brand, but not entirely know what for. Later on, I realized that I was prepping to be a business owner. Once I discovered the talents that I would later on use; it began to make more sense to me as I grew more into my purpose. I am happy to be running my own business. I do think about the days when I was employed at a regular job. I also remember not truly being happy. Knowing when you are not walking into your calling, feeling overworked and undervalued; it’s not a great feeling. Elated! Being an entrepreneur was the best decision I’ve made for my life. Having 3 children, being a wife, operating a business, dealing with your everyday struggles; flexibility and freedom is all I yearned for. But let’s be honest money is needed as well. So throughout my career I’ve picked up part time jobs to supplement what I wasn’t making in my business. Almost all cosmetologist have done it. I never in my life imagined that I would be a business owner. I didn’t think I had the entrepreneurial “gene,” nor did I think I would ever have a big idea that would influence me to start my own business. However, now, I honestly can’t imagine my life any other way. Being my own boss has its positives and negatives of course. I find the good FAR outweighs the bad. I love my sense of work-life balance. I have two small children at home, and love spending time with them. I am open and honest with clients that most days, I leave work at 3 or 4 to spend time with them afters school, eat dinner, and put them to bed. Read more>>
