We were lucky to catch up with Yuliana Lucia Gomez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Yuliana Lucia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Showy was born at the end of 2023, during a very special chapter of my life. I came to the U.S. as a cultural exchange student, and when my program ended, I was ready to return to my professional path in marketing. But finding a job in my field turned out to be incredibly challenging — I didn’t know if it was because I’m Latina, or simply because the market was so competitive. That uncertainty left me feeling overwhelmed and stressed, searching for a way to reconnect with myself.
That’s when jewelry saved me.
I turned back to something that had always brought me peace and joy — Fashion and jewelry. Since childhood, I’ve shared with my mom a love for jewelry making, and soon I found myself experimenting again with polymer clay, resin, and beads, rediscovering that spark I had been missing.
Following my heart, I decided to build something of my own — and Showy was born.
Today, Showy is a jewelry brand focused on creating and curating unique accessories. 90% of the pieces are designed and created by me while the 10% left are elaborated in my home country thanks to a partnership I made with some colombian artisans We use polymer clay, resin, semi-precious stones, and nickel-free beads, with a small batch per design to keep each piece truly special.
Our stainless-steel jewelry collection is carefully curated to ensure high quality, durability, and accessible prices, because I believe style and confidence shouldn’t come with limits.

Yuliana Lucia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Lucia, a Colombian publicist, designer, and the founder and creative mind behind Showy.
Many people find statement jewelry either too heavy, overly delicate, or overly expensive for daily wear. At Showy, we bridge that gap by solving three key problems for our community:
Comfort Meets Impact: Our handmade and metal statement pieces frame the face beautifully without feeling heavy on the ears. You get maximum impact with all-day comfort.
Versatility & Quality: We design and select pieces made with durable materials like stainless steel that seamlessly transition from casual, daily looks to special occasions and elevated evening outfits.
Authenticity & Heritage: As a proud Colombiana, my roots inspire everything I do. Showy isn’t just about selling jewelry—it’s about celebrating individuality, confidence, and culture. We want our pieces to serve as wearable reminders to stand out and shine. What I’m Most Proud Of
I am most proud of building a business true to my roots that inspires other women to chase their dreams. Leaving a comfort zone to build something from scratch takes courage, and as a Latina entrepreneur, I hope my journey shows other women—especially fellow Latinas—that it is possible to turn your passion into reality if you never give up and fight for what you love.
Seeing our clients light up when they put on a pair of Showy earrings and reading their feedback about how our pieces instantly boost their mood or confidence is the absolute most rewarding part of this work.
5. What I Want Potential Clients & Followers to Know
Every Piece Has Heart: Whether it’s a pair of handmade clay earrings or a carefully selected gold hoop, every item in our store is chosen or created with intention, love, and attention to detail.
More Than an Accessory: Jewelry is a form of self-expression. When you wear Showy, you’re not just wearing an accessory—you’re stepping into your confidence, celebrating your individuality, and supporting a dream.
Never Stop Shining: Our motto is simple: Never give up, celebrate who you are, and always let your personality show.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Two books have completely shaped how I run Showy LLC: Born to Shine by Kendra Scott and Profit First by Mike Michalowicz.
Kendra Scott’s Born to Shine provided the heart and creative inspiration. Reading how she built a jewelry empire from scratch—starting in a spare bedroom—showed me that passion, authenticity, and staying true to your roots can turn a creative vision into an impactful brand.
Mike Michalowicz’s Profit First provided the operational discipline. It completely transformed my approach to business finances by teaching me to prioritize profit and build a financially healthy, sustainable model from day one rather than treating profit as an afterthought.
Together, they represent my management philosophy: combining a bold, dream-driven vision with smart, disciplined financial habits

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
Yes, absolutely! Having multiple revenue streams is essential in today’s competitive digital landscape. At Showy, we’ve built an omnichannel business model that combines both digital and physical touchpoints.
Alongside our core e-commerce website, we reach customers directly through pop-up markets and local events, sell in consignment stores, and fulfill wholesale orders for retail partners. We also host workshops, which not only generate additional income but give our community a hands-on way to engage with our brand.
Diversifying our sales channels ensures we aren’t relying on just one algorithm or platform, allowing us to build real relationships and reach new audiences everywhere they shop.
