Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brad Kolowich Jr. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Brad, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
One of the greatest gifts my parents gave me was teaching me the value of hard work and personal responsibility.
Growing up, there was never an expectation that success would simply be handed to me. They taught me that if something was worth having, it was worth working for. They also taught me the importance of treating people with respect, keeping your word, and showing up consistently even when you don’t feel like it.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how much those lessons shaped not only my business, but my life. At KoloFit, we often talk about consistency over perfection. I learned that long before I ever became a trainer or business owner. Success is rarely about one big moment. It’s usually the result of small actions repeated over time.
Today, as a husband, father of three boys, business owner, and pilot, I find myself trying to pass many of those same lessons on to my children. Hard work matters. Character matters. Keeping your word matters. Those principles have served me well throughout life, and I’m incredibly grateful my parents instilled them in me from an early age.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m the founder of KoloFit Studios, a personal trainer, author, husband, father of three boys, and private pilot. I’ve spent more than 20 years helping people improve their health, fitness, confidence, and quality of life.
My passion for fitness started at a young age through sports and competition. I played collegiate tennis at Florida State University, and during that time I became fascinated by how training, nutrition, recovery, and mindset could impact performance. What began as a personal passion eventually grew into a career and later into a business.
Today, KoloFit Studios serves clients through personalized one-on-one training, small group training, nutrition coaching, and customized fitness programming. We work with people from all walks of life, including busy professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, parents, athletes, and public figures. While every client has unique goals, most are looking for the same thing: a sustainable plan that helps them feel and perform at their best.
One of the biggest problems we solve is helping people cut through the noise. The fitness industry can be incredibly confusing. New trends, conflicting advice, quick fixes, and unrealistic expectations are everywhere. Our approach is built around simplicity, consistency, and proven fundamentals. We focus on what works, not what’s trendy.
What sets KoloFit apart is the level of personalization and care we provide. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programs. Every client is different, and we take the time to understand their goals, lifestyle, challenges, and preferences so we can build a plan that truly fits their life.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a specific achievement or milestone. It’s the relationships we’ve built over the years. Many of our clients have trusted us with their health for years and even decades. Being part of someone’s journey as they become stronger, healthier, more confident, and more capable is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of fitness, my greatest priorities are my faith, my family, and continuing to grow as a person. Whether I’m spending time with my wife and three sons, flying an airplane, coaching a client, or working on the business, I try to approach life with gratitude, curiosity, and a commitment to continual improvement.
If there’s one thing I’d want readers to know about me and KoloFit, it’s that our mission has never been about helping people simply look better. It’s about helping them build a stronger body, greater confidence, better health, and a life they’re excited to live.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
If I had to point to one thing that helped me build a reputation in the fitness industry, it would be consistency.
Over the last two decades, I’ve tried to show up every day with the same commitment to helping people succeed. Trends come and go, but trust is built over time. When clients know you’ll be there, that you’ll tell them the truth, and that you’ll genuinely care about their success, relationships tend to last.
I’ve also never been interested in chasing shortcuts or gimmicks. The fitness industry can sometimes reward flashy marketing, but I’ve always believed results and relationships are what matter most. Our focus at KoloFit has been helping clients build sustainable habits, improve their health, and create long-term success rather than chasing quick fixes.
Another factor has been treating every client with the same level of professionalism and respect. Whether someone is training for their first 5K, trying to lose weight, improve their health, or happens to be a professional athlete or actor, everyone deserves the same level of attention and care.
Looking back, I think our reputation was built one client at a time. When people consistently have a positive experience, they tell others. Over time, that word-of-mouth trust becomes one of the most valuable assets a business can have.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the greatest tests of resilience in my career came during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like many small business owners, I suddenly found myself facing tremendous uncertainty. Fitness studios across the country were shutting down, clients were dealing with their own challenges, and there were many moments when nobody knew what the future would look like.
Instead of focusing on what we couldn’t control, our team focused on what we could control. We adapted quickly, stayed connected with clients, found creative ways to continue serving people, and remained committed to our mission of helping people improve their health during a time when health was more important than ever.
The experience reinforced something I’ve always believed: resilience isn’t about never facing adversity. It’s about continuing to move forward despite adversity.
That period taught me to be adaptable, stay calm under pressure, and trust the process. It also reminded me that strong relationships matter. Many of our clients stood by us because of the trust we had built over the years, and that’s something I’ll always be grateful for.
Today, when challenges arise in business or life, I often think back to that season. It was a reminder that difficult times don’t last forever, but the lessons you learn from them can stay with you for a lifetime.
