We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Abraham Lopez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Abraham below.
Hi Abraham , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
For me, Sharp Obsession is far more than just another film project, it is one of the most meaningful milestones of my career and my life. This film represents years of passion, sacrifice, creativity, and persistence. It is my very first feature film, and that alone makes it incredibly special to me, but what makes it even more personal is the journey behind how it came to life.
Sharp Obsession was born from my award winning proof of concept, Hidden Lives. What started as a small vision with a passionate team eventually evolved into something much larger than I ever imagined. The success and recognition of Hidden Lives gave me the confidence and motivation to expand the story into a full-length feature film. I saw the potential in these characters, the emotional tension, and the psychological depth of the story, and I knew there was something powerful there worth bringing to audiences on a much larger scale.
Bringing Sharp Obsession to life was not easy. It took years of hard work, dedication, and commitment. As an independent filmmaker, every step came with challenges, but I never stopped pushing forward because I truly believed in the story we were telling. I poured my heart into every aspect of the film from developing the screenplay, shaping the tone and atmosphere, directing performances, managing production, and ensuring the vision stayed authentic from beginning to end.
One of the most meaningful parts of this journey was getting to create this film alongside actors and crew members I have worked with for years. These are people who believed in me, supported my vision, and grew with me creatively over time. There is a real sense of family and trust within our team, and I believe that connection translates onto the screen. Everyone involved gave everything they had to make this project the best it could possibly be.
Watching Sharp Obsession evolve from an idea, to an award-winning proof of concept, and finally into a completed feature film has been an emotional and rewarding experience. This project represents growth, not only as a filmmaker, but as a storyteller and leader. It reflects the countless hours of work behind the scenes, the belief my team had in the project, and the determination it took to turn a dream into reality.
No matter where my career goes from here, Sharp Obsession will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the project that proved to me that dreams can become reality through passion, perseverance, and the people who stand beside you throughout the journey.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Abraham Lopez, and I am a filmmaker, writer, producer, and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California. I am the founder and CEO of A Greek God Entertainment LLC, an independent production company dedicated to creating cinematic, emotionally driven, and commercially impactful films and media projects. Storytelling has always been a major part of who I am, and over the years I turned that passion into a career and a growing company that now develops feature films, proof of concepts, commercials, music projects, and full-scale productions from development through post-production.
What drew me into filmmaking was the ability to create emotion, connection, and experiences that stay with people long after they leave the screen. I’ve always believed that film is one of the most powerful forms of art because it allows audiences to escape, feel, reflect, and connect with stories on a deeply human level. I started my journey independently, learning every aspect of production through hands on experience, sacrifice, persistence, and a relentless commitment to improving my craft. I built my company from the ground up while developing projects, networking, directing, producing, and constantly pushing myself creatively and professionally.
One thing that truly separates me from many others is that I didn’t wait for permission or perfect circumstances to begin creating. I believed in my vision enough to take risks, build relationships, and continue moving forward even during difficult moments. Over time, that dedication led to the creation of award-winning proof of concepts and films that have received recognition at film festivals across the country and internationally. One of the projects I am most proud of is Sharp Obsession (formerly Hidden Lives), my first feature film. What makes this project especially meaningful is that it evolved from my award-winning proof of concept Hidden Lives into a full-length feature that eventually secured worldwide distribution. Seeing a small independent concept grow into a globally distributed feature film was an incredibly emotional and rewarding milestone for me and my team.
At A Greek God Entertainment, we provide a wide range of creative and production services. We specialize in film and television production, directing, producing, editing, cinematography, music production, production consulting, proof of concept development, and full pre-production and post-production services. We also help filmmakers and creators package projects, develop presentations, create pitch materials, and bring ideas to life from concept to screen. Because we own and operate professional cinema equipment, lighting, and production tools in-house, we are able to provide high-level cinematic quality while remaining efficient and flexible for independent productions.
The biggest problem we solve for our clients and collaborators is helping ambitious creative visions become reality. Independent filmmaking is extremely challenging, especially for creators who have strong ideas but lack the structure, resources, or production guidance needed to execute them professionally. We bridge that gap by combining creativity with practical production experience. We understand how to build projects from the ground up while still maintaining cinematic quality and emotional storytelling. We focus heavily on collaboration, communication, and making sure every project feels authentic and meaningful.
I believe another thing that sets me apart is my loyalty to the people I work with and the environment we create together. Many of the actors, crew members, and collaborators I work with are people I have built relationships with over years. We’ve grown creatively together, and there is a real sense of trust, passion, and family within our productions. I care deeply about creating opportunities not only for myself, but for the talented people around me who believe in these stories as much as I do.
What I’m most proud of is not just the awards or recognition, but the fact that I continued pushing forward no matter the obstacles. Independent filmmaking requires resilience, faith, sacrifice, and an incredible amount of determination. Every project represents years of work, risk, and belief. To now have projects receiving recognition, building audiences, securing distribution, and opening doors for larger opportunities is something I never take for granted.
I want people to know that my brand and my company are built on passion, authenticity, perseverance, and vision. I want audiences and collaborators to feel something real when they experience our work. Whether it’s horror, thriller, drama, or emotionally driven storytelling, my goal is always to create films and experiences that leave an impact. I believe this is only the beginning of what A Greek God Entertainment will become, and I’m excited to continue growing, creating meaningful stories, and building a lasting legacy within the entertainment industry.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I think one of the biggest things non creatives sometimes struggle to understand is that success in the creative industry rarely happens overnight, and unlike a traditional 9 to 5 career path, there’s no guaranteed paycheck, schedule, or roadmap. As a creative, especially in filmmaking and entertainment, you have to build opportunities yourself. You have to believe in your vision long before the world sees it or understands it.
A lot of people see the finished product the movie, the awards, the recognition, the premieres, the press but they don’t always see the years of sacrifice, uncertainty, sleepless nights, financial risk, rejection, and persistence behind it all. They don’t see the countless hours spent developing ideas, networking, learning, failing, rebuilding, and continuing forward even when things feel impossible.
In this industry, money doesn’t come easily or consistently in the beginning. There are periods where you pour everything you have time, energy, finances, emotions into projects before seeing any return. Unlike many traditional careers where effort can lead to predictable stability, the creative world demands patience and faith. You can work tirelessly on something for years before people finally recognize its value. That’s why passion is so important, because if you’re only doing it for money or quick success, it becomes very difficult to survive the hard moments.
What people also don’t realize is how mentally demanding it can be to constantly create while carrying pressure, responsibility, and uncertainty. As a filmmaker and entrepreneur, you’re not only an artist you’re also a problem solver, leader, marketer, strategist, and risk taker. You’re responsible for making things happen even when resources are limited or obstacles appear constantly.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that persistence is everything. You truly cannot give up. There are going to be moments where things move slowly, where people doubt you, where doors close, or where success feels far away. But creative careers are built by the people who continue showing up anyway. The people who keep creating, keep learning, keep adapting, and keep believing in their vision despite setbacks are the ones who eventually break through.
I hope people understand that being a creative is not just a profession it’s a commitment, a lifestyle, and in many ways a calling. It takes resilience, discipline, sacrifice, and an incredible amount of dedication. But for those who genuinely love creating and telling stories, the journey becomes worth it because you’re building something meaningful that can impact people and potentially leave a lasting legacy.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and filmmaker is the ability to connect with people on a deep emotional level through storytelling. There’s something incredibly powerful about creating stories that make people feel seen, understood, inspired, or even hopeful during difficult moments in their lives. Film and art have the ability to reach people in ways words alone sometimes cannot, and that’s something I never take for granted.
I believe storytelling is one of the strongest forms of human connection. A great story can leave a lasting impression on someone for years. It can change the way they see themselves, the way they view life, or even give them the strength to keep moving forward. Knowing that something I create could inspire another person, help them emotionally, motivate them to chase their dreams, or remind them they are not alone is one of the greatest rewards I could ever ask for as a creative.
What means the most to me is telling heartfelt, emotionally honest stories that people can genuinely relate to. Whether it’s through fear, love, pain, struggle, hope, or perseverance, I want audiences to feel something real when they watch my work. I want my films to stay with people long after the credits roll. Even in darker genres like psychological thrillers or horror, there are human emotions and truths underneath the surface that audiences connect to.
Another rewarding part of being a creative is the opportunity to inspire others who are trying to pursue their own dreams. I know firsthand how difficult this industry can be, how much sacrifice it takes, and how easy it can feel to give up. So if my journey, my films, or my perseverance can motivate someone else to keep believing in themselves and continue creating despite obstacles, then that means everything to me.
At the end of the day, being an artist is about more than entertainment for me. It’s about creating something meaningful stories that can inspire faith, spark emotion, encourage reflection, and leave a lasting impact on people’s lives. That’s what makes all the hard work, sacrifice, and dedication worth it.
