We recently connected with Jose Ramirez and have shared our conversation below.
Jose, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
I’m writing this while sitting beside my mom in a hospital room.
Looking back, my parents didn’t always know how to express themselves when it came to life. But one thing they understood better than anything was how to care and provide. And in my eyes, that’s the most a parent can do right.
They’re both Mexican immigrants, each with their own story. My dad came from a harsher path though, he carried the weight of responsibility early on and focused on providing for his family. My mom had a bit more freedom. She pursued an education in nursing and eventually became a paramedic. They followed the journey of life how ever they could. Which in the end brought them to the States. They arrived with very little. No guarantees. Just faith, resilience, and the willingness to work. And somehow, through all of it, they built a life for me and my brothers. They showed us that even when life is uncertain, hard work and faith can lead to somewhere meaningful, beautiful, somewhere good.
I’ve always felt blessed because of that. My family’s prayers, their sacrifices, their quiet strength. It’s what ultimately kept us going. After all that’s happened, I got nothing to say nor change. I’ve never held anything against my parents because like everyone else, this is also their first time in life. So when people ask me, “What did your parents do right?” I simply reply, They did what they needed to do, care and provide.

Jose, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started my photography business because of my love to capture life. Over time, people naturally gravitated toward my work, drawn to its honesty and emotion. For the past nine years, my journey has evolved from capturing simple moments of sunshine and flowers to documenting love and the milestones that matter the most in life. I consider myself a natural light photographer, blending light and nature to create images that feel both meaningful and natural. Using my surroundings to bring more depth and meaning to every shot. Taking my time and bringing comfort to clients and creative artists, always driven by my passion for the art.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Personally, my mission is to create and witness the beauty that life has to offer. Whether it’s a breathtaking sunrise on a mountain top or the first kiss in a wedding, I want to capture every moment that makes life truly worthwhile.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Watching the feedback I receive from my work fills me with immense love and inspiration. Many people express their admiration for my photographs and writings cherishing every color, detail, phrase, and expression. It brings my work to life.
