We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sylvana Nogueira a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sylvana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk I’ve taken wasn’t just starting my own firm — it was choosing to build it differently.
I began working with entrepreneurs and small business owners in the U.S., but over time I saw both an opportunity and a challenge in working with international clients. Expanding into that space meant navigating more complex regulations, cultural differences, and a higher level of responsibility.
What I quickly realized was this: the real problem wasn’t taxes — it was the lack of structure and understanding from the very beginning. People were making decisions without fully understanding the long-term impact, and those mistakes were costly.
So I built a model centered on end-to-end accounting guidance — not just preparing returns, but educating, structuring, and guiding clients before mistakes happen.
That decision required more time, deeper involvement, and, at times, difficult conversations. But it changed everything.
Today, my firm is built on long-term relationships, clarity, and proactive strategy — not just compliance.
And that risk became the foundation of a business with purpose.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a tax strategist specializing in international taxation, with a focus on foreign investors and business owners operating in the United States.
I began working with entrepreneurs and small business owners, where I quickly noticed a pattern: people were making important financial decisions without fully understanding the long-term impact. Over time, I expanded into working with international clients, where the complexity — and the consequences of poor structure — are even greater.
Through my firm, Aldano Group LLC, I provide tax planning, compliance, and strategic advisory. But more than that, I offer end-to-end accounting guidance — supporting clients at every stage, from LLC formation and structuring to payroll, sales tax, bookkeeping, and ongoing compliance.
Because in this field, fixing mistakes is always more expensive than preventing them.
What sets me apart is my approach. I don’t just prepare tax returns — I educate, guide, and challenge my clients to make better decisions. My work is not transactional; it’s strategic.
I’m especially proud of expanding this mission into early financial education. I’ve developed projects focused on teaching children how to understand money, because by the time most people need a tax advisor, many foundational mistakes have already been made.
At its core, my brand is about one thing: helping people move from uncertainty to clarity.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
From the beginning, I focused on doing more than just providing traditional accounting services. I made it a priority to understand each client’s situation, anticipate risks, and guide them through decisions that would have a long-term impact.
As I began working with international clients, that approach became even more critical. The level of complexity required not only technical knowledge, but also clarity and trust.
Over time, clients started to see the difference. It wasn’t just about compliance — it was about having someone who could think ahead, structure correctly, and explain things in a way that made sense.
In my case, reputation was built by consistently delivering clarity, not just results.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been education.
Instead of focusing solely on selling services, I focused on helping people understand what they’re doing — especially when it comes to taxes, structuring, and investing in the U.S.
Many of my clients come in with uncertainty, and what builds trust is clarity.
By consistently sharing knowledge, guiding decisions, and offering end-to-end accounting guidance, I’ve been able to attract clients who value doing things correctly from the start.
For me, growth hasn’t come from volume — it has come from alignment.
The right clients don’t just look for a service — they look for guidance.
