We were lucky to catch up with Veronica Gonzalez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Veronica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
For many years, learning in this industry, I have gained a lot of knowledge and gained insight into what I learn today. I think what I’ve learned so far to speed up the process in my journey is patience and figuring out the points I want to address in my career and music. The skills that I know that were esstenial in my path was to be open-minded for judgement, to not worry about the outcome but learn from the process and to have fun through it all. I had many obstacles in my way that hinder my way of learning but just some of them was to have the right guidance in my earlier years, to have the right management at that time to get me to more opportunities and also the financial burden that had effected my progress as well.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Born and raised in the East Village area in NYC. Music has always play a huge vital role in my life. Going through so many uphills it helped me to express those situations and how it can help others along the way as well. I always felt this was one of my callings in life. To be in this industry as an artist. I started first into my school choir in my local JHS.(Junior High School). Down the line I kept working on my craft as to songwriting, writing poems, and also got to chance into my adult years to pursue into it fully. I have released over 7 albums and working on my 8th album called Self Love. I feel what sets me apart from others in this industry is my music speaks about social issues and other concepts that are something everyone can relate too. I want my fans and followers to know that my music and my journey has not been easy, Of course I had gone through some great moments and also some hard ones. But for the most of it I had learn for those experiences and not to give up. My brand as my artistry (Vero G.) as branched out as the Vero G. Spotlight Brand into other outlets in media.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
From my own experiences in this industry, I feel that what is needed to support for all artists is more outlets such as radio/magazines/shows that focus on local talent worldwide. Plus people who loves to support the main stream artists that are signed by the labels and that are pushed in the market. Should also help support local artists who are just trying to also get their name or be in the scene. Like supporting them to get. a ticket to go to one of their shows, or share their content on social media. Get them more into a supportive system so it would be easier for them.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist for me was seeing how people and my fans appreciate the work and music I put out there. To see how the amount of appreciation and love I have gotten through my performances and other work through my music has been seen world-wide.
