We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Randy Carey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Randy, appreciate you joining us today. We believe kindness is contagious and so we’d love for you to share with us and our audience about the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
The nicest thing anyone did for me was when Jesus died on the cross for my sins. He did it for everyone in the world, but he would have done it for just me if I was the only one. I can’t think of a nicer thing than that . I think we too often take that for granted.
Randy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m all about faith family and good clean fun! I started the business when I was a freshman in college. My friend and I went to a dance and saw a kid DJing and we looked at each other and said “we can do that”. We built our DJ service around exceptional customer service through clear communication. For more than 30 years we have entertained thousands of guests at wedding receptions, corporate events , and private parties, and have realized that Communication is the key to helping their vision for their big day come to life. We remind them to think about how much they want their guests to be involved, from music selection to guest participation. Then we tailor our service to meet those needs. We give the client our professional opinion based on our experience, and guide them through the planning process, all while allowing them to maintain control of the decisions. Then on the day of the event, we coordinate and facilitate all the details making it as stress free as possible for them.
I thank God everyday for what He has best blessed me with, like my beautiful wife and 10 beautiful children, and the amazing DJs who help support our business and our family. I also praise him for my challenges, because it’s in those challenges that we draw closer to him and by uniting our suffering with His. I believe our whole purpose on Earth is to know love and serve God. With God all things are possible! Our talents are one of God’s gifts to us, and what we do with those talents is our gift back to him. The biggest challenge I have had over the years is the music itself. So after 30 years, we have decided to move forward with a new entity, PureVibe DJs, and made a commitment to playing only music with clean content. Services were previoulsy provided by RnB Sound. This clean content music format, along with our exceptional customer service, is what sets us apart from others.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My reputation was built on great communication and customer service, which built a solid referral base.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My best source of new clients has been the relationships I have built with other vendors.
