We were lucky to catch up with Stephanie Ton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Stephanie, appreciate you joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I don’t wish I started sooner or later. I think I started exactly when I needed to. There’s a level of life experience, confidence, and perspective that I bring to my business now that I wouldn’t have had earlier. At the same time, starting when I did gave me the space to grow, make mistakes, and refine my approach in a way that feels truly aligned today. Looking back, the timing allowed me to build something more intentional, rather than just jumping in before I was ready.

Stephanie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m the owner and lead planner of Peachy Events, a Houston-based wedding planning and design studio focused on creating experiences that feel as good as they look. I didn’t get into this industry through a traditional path—I was drawn to it through a combination of loving meaningful gatherings, having a natural instinct for organization, and genuinely enjoying being the person behind the scenes making everything run seamlessly.
Over time, what started as an interest evolved into a business rooted in both logistics and creativity. I realized I didn’t just enjoy beautiful design—I loved shaping how a wedding feels from beginning to end. That’s what really defines my approach today.
At Peachy Events, we offer planning and design services that go beyond aesthetics. We help our clients navigate the entire process—from big-picture vision down to the smallest details—while also guiding the flow, energy, and guest experience of the day. Many of our clients come to us feeling overwhelmed by options or unsure how to bring everything together in a way that feels cohesive and true to them. We step in to simplify, refine, and execute in a way that feels intentional rather than overdone.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just focus on how a wedding looks—we focus on how it’s experienced. Design is important, but so is pacing, guest interaction, and creating moments that feel natural rather than forced. My role often becomes a balance of planner, creative director, and advocate—making sure our clients feel supported while also ensuring every element serves a purpose.
I’m most proud of the trust our clients place in us and the way we’re able to translate who they are into something tangible. No two weddings we plan feel the same, and that’s very intentional. I also take pride in building strong relationships within the industry—because great events are never done alone, and collaboration plays a huge role in the final outcome.
If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s that we care just as much about the experience as we do the design. We’re not here to replicate trends—we’re here to create something that feels personal, thoughtful, and memorable for the people it’s meant for.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think my reputation has been built through consistency and intention over time. In an industry where there’s a lot of emphasis on aesthetics and visibility, I’ve focused just as much on the experience behind the scenes—how clients feel throughout the process, how smoothly a wedding day runs, and how well we collaborate with other vendors.
A big part of that has been trust. I’m very honest with my clients, I set clear expectations, and I guide them in a way that helps them feel confident in their decisions. That trust often turns into referrals, which has been one of the most meaningful ways my business has grown.
I’ve also been intentional about relationships within the industry. Building a strong network of vendors who respect how I work—and who I genuinely enjoy working with—has made a huge difference. When you consistently show up prepared, communicative, and solution-oriented, people remember that.
And beyond that, I think it comes down to how we approach each wedding. We’re not trying to replicate what we’ve already done or chase trends—we’re focused on creating something that feels tailored to each client. Over time, that level of care and consistency naturally builds a reputation that people trust.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I didn’t grow my audience overnight—it was a mix of showing up consistently and sharing work I was proud of. The biggest shift came when I focused on posting with intention, not for validation, asking “Does this reflect the experience I want to be known for?” My advice for anyone starting out: don’t overthink it. Share your work, be consistent, and let your voice and perspective shine. Social media matters, but real relationships and referrals are still the strongest growth drivers.
