We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Emma Miller. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Emma below.
Emma, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
I love this question because it hits very close to home. My parents are divorced and for much of my life my father hasn’t been around. So, I was raised by a single mom and cannot even begin to express how much she did to help me become the woman I am today. My mom was always such a fantastic role model of independence and strength. She helped me through the darkest times in my life and celebrated the brightest. Throughout college and into adulthood she encouraged me to persist and follow my dreams. There are two major life lessons I attribute to my mom that guide me every day.
One is to follow your heart with logic. This may sound counter intuitive because we often think of heart and mind as being separate but let me explain. When I began my journey as an entrepreneur my mom simply said “You will be so good at that and it sounds so fun, just make sure to think about all the details and keep your health insurance” This advice has helped me to stay on track and build with consistency and care. I am building a business with grace and dedication but also making sure to do so in a responsible way. I don’t take risks but I bet on my abilities to achieve my goals.
The second lesson I learned from my mom is that “perfection is the enemy of the good”. When I came up with the idea for my business I knew I didn’t have to be perfect, I just had to get started. Overtime I could and have, made adjustments and changes. I do consider myself to be a perfectionist and I often times spend far too much time trying to make projects look exactly as they do in my head. However, I strive to do well every day without that deep pressure on myself. I can do good with my business and help families without having to be perfect.
My mom did lots of things right but I can sum it all up by saying: I am a woman that follows my dreams, tries new things and lives with both heart and mind because of her unwavering positive example.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I would love to tell you all about Emma Enchanted Travel!
I have been planning magical vacations since April 2024. I began my business shortly after rediscovering my love for Disney as an adult and realizing just how much I love organizing trips. I genuinely believe that the magic of Disney is unmatched at any age, but it is so important to have clear plans and a deep understanding of the parks in order to make the most of your time and money.
I believe my passion and patience sets me a part from others. I know that a Disney vacation can be expensive and overwhelming. I also know how important those magical memories can be for people. So, I make it my mission to help my clients truly understand every in and out of their trip.
I approach planning with a teaching mindset in order to help in every way possible. I want everyone I work with to have the best time without having to worry about logistics. This truly means, I take the time to answer all of your questions, explain details in depth and to get to know your individual travel needs.
I am most proud of my ability to connect with my clients and not just put together a trip but to actually prepare them for Disney specifically. I provide an abundance of information and support every step of the way. I provide full itineraries, make reservations and give individualized suggestions. In addition to my travel planning services I write about Disney and offer complete guide books.
I want everyone to know that booking with a Disney travel agent is completely free. Disney takes care of my tab, so you can use all of my expertise at no cost to you!

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I love to read and soak up as much knowledge from other founders as I can because I genuinely believe that rising tides raise all ships. If we can take advice from one another and support each other, we will experience more success. Community is key because entrepreneurship can be so lonely. Here are some sources that have been particularly helpful for me.
I have learned so much from Jenna Kutcher. She is a writer, podcaster, and business woman who has given so much incredible advice. Her book and courses have helped me understand how to manage my time and what resources are available to me. Secondly, although it is not directly related to business, the book Atomic Habits by James Clear has helped me significantly in my approach to growth. The idea that 1% better each day is still growth has been life changing. I am building healthy habits because of his words. Lastly, I have been to several local events that have allowed me to network and make connections with other founders in my area. I highly encourage others to step out of their comfort zone and find networking events in their area too. Find groups that make you feel empowered and inspired. Build relationships and support others. It has helped me and I believe it can help anyone.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Full disclosure I feel that I am in the middle of that story right now, as we speak. It can be hard to start a business, especially one that is not directly related to prior job experience. Often times there is a sense of worry that others won’t take you seriously. However, I believe that varied experiences and challenges are in fact, what makes business owners strong and resilient.
For context, I have my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and have been an elementary teacher for several years. I know that even though travel may seem disconnected from education, it has helped shape my approach in so many ways. Shifting to a entirely different realm of work and balancing everything has been difficult. There are days that are truly challenging and I feel that I am not doing enough to grow my business to the level that I want it to be, but this can’t stop me. I have to be resilient and try again the next day with dedication and grace. Dreams aren’t achieved fully over night. It takes time and dedication. I am resilient because in the words of Spiderman “no matter how many times I fall, I get back up.” Is it clear that I am a Disney person based on this quote? (giggle)
