Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yuliana West. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Yuliana, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I didn’t grow up always feeling confident. For a long time, I saw my beauty mark on my lips as something I wanted to hide. It was something I was insecure about, something I didn’t fully understand the purpose of. But as I grew in my faith, my perspective started to change. I began to realize that the very thing I once tried to cover was actually something that made me unique — something that God placed on me intentionally.
That shift is what inspired the name Mark Of Beauty Cosmetics. It represents more than makeup — it represents embracing who you are, the things that make you different, and learning to see yourself the way God sees you.
When I started the business, I wasn’t just thinking about products. I was thinking about how I could create something that helps women feel confident, seen, and beautiful — not just on the outside, but within. I wanted to build a brand that speaks to identity, self-worth, and purpose.
I knew this was a worthwhile path because I had experienced that transformation myself. I went from hiding something about me to building an entire brand around it. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just an idea — it was a calling.
What makes my brand different is that it’s not only about beauty trends or products. It’s rooted in a deeper message. Every product, every post, every detail is meant to remind women that they are already beautiful and worthy. The makeup is just an extension of that confidence.
What excited me the most was knowing that something so personal could become something that helps others. Turning something I once struggled with into something that empowers other women — that’s what made me go all in.

Yuliana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Yuliana West, and I am the founder of Mark Of Beauty Cosmetics, a faith-based beauty brand created to empower women to feel confident, seen, and beautiful in their own skin.
My journey into the beauty industry started from a very personal place. For years, I struggled with insecurity, especially about my beauty mark. It was something I once tried to hide, but over time, through my faith, I began to see it differently. I realized that what I once viewed as a flaw was actually something that made me unique. That transformation became the foundation of my brand.
Mark Of Beauty Cosmetics is more than just makeup — it’s about identity, confidence, and purpose. I offer a range of lip products, including lip oils, glosses, lip liners, and lip combos designed to enhance natural beauty while making women feel confident and empowered. Every product is created with intention, not just to look good, but to make the person wearing it feel beautiful from within.
One of the problems I aim to solve is the pressure many women feel to fit a certain beauty standard. My brand encourages women to embrace what makes them different and to find confidence in who they are. I want my customers to feel like they don’t have to change themselves to be beautiful — they already are.
What sets my brand apart is the message behind it. It’s rooted in faith and purpose. Everything I create, from the products to the content I share, carries a deeper meaning. I want women to feel encouraged, uplifted, and reminded of their worth every time they interact with my brand.
What I am most proud of is starting this business from the ground up and staying consistent even when it hasn’t been easy. There have been challenges, moments of doubt, and times where growth felt slow, but I kept going. I believe God is building something bigger than what I can currently see, and that keeps me motivated.
I want people to know that Mark Of Beauty Cosmetics is not just a brand — it’s a journey. It’s a reflection of growth, faith, and learning to see beauty differently. My goal is to continue building something that not only provides great products but also inspires and impacts people in a positive way.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There have been many moments in my journey where I’ve had to rely on resilience, especially in the early stages of building my business. One of the biggest challenges has been staying consistent even when I wasn’t seeing the results I hoped for right away. There were times when I would post content, put effort into my brand, and not get many views or sales, and it would make me question if I was doing the right thing.
I also faced challenges with vendors and product quality, which was frustrating because I care deeply about what I put out under my brand. There were moments where things didn’t go as planned, and it would have been easy to give up or feel discouraged.
But through all of that, my faith has been what kept me grounded. I truly believe that God placed this vision in my heart for a reason, and even when things feel slow or uncertain, I remind myself that growth takes time and that I’m building something meaningful.
Resilience for me has looked like continuing to show up — even on the days when I don’t feel motivated, even when results aren’t immediate. It’s trusting the process, learning from every challenge, and choosing not to quit. Every obstacle has helped me grow, not just as a business owner, but as a person.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
One of the most effective strategies for growing my clientele has been showing up consistently on social media and being authentic in how I share my journey. When I first started, I didn’t have a large audience, and not every post performed well. There were times when my videos received very low views, which could feel discouraging.
Instead of focusing only on the numbers, I chose to stay consistent and focus on my message. I began sharing not just my products, but the story behind my brand, my faith, and the meaning of what I’m building. That authenticity helped me connect with people on a deeper level.
I’ve learned that people don’t just buy products — they connect with stories and purpose. By being real, consistent, and intentional with my content, I’ve been able to slowly grow an audience that genuinely supports my brand.
Another important part has been engaging with my audience, responding to comments, and making people feel seen and appreciated. Building a brand is not just about selling, it’s about building relationships.
My biggest advice is to stay consistent, even when results feel slow, and to always lead with purpose. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but every post is part of the bigger picture.
