Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kailey Hall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kailey, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
A defining risk I took was starting PHEEL. At the time, I was a Marketing Director in what many would consider a “dream role.” On paper, it didn’t make sense to leave, I had stability, success, and everything I thought I was supposed to want. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t where I was meant to stay.
I felt called to something more challenging, more expansive. I wanted to work with a variety of businesses, build something of my own, and lead a team in a way that felt aligned with my vision.
The truth is, I didn’t have it all figured out. I didn’t know how I would get my first client. I didn’t have a safety net or a detailed plan. All I had was a name, PHEEL, and the conviction that I needed to take the leap.
What started as a risk became one of the greatest blessings of my life. Today, I have the opportunity to do work I genuinely love every day, serving business owners in Nashville and beyond, building meaningful brands, and growing alongside an incredible team.
Looking back, I’m deeply grateful I trusted that instinct. Taking that risk changed everything.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kailey Hall and I’m the founder of PHEEL, a creative agency specializing in social media management, content creation, website design, and brand development.
I started PHEEL in 2021, the day after I left my full-time role as a Marketing Director. From the outside, it probably didn’t make much sense. I had a solid job, a good title, and stability. But I knew I wasn’t meant to stay there long term. I wanted more, more challenge, more ownership, and the ability to help multiple businesses grow, not just one.
I didn’t have a backup plan. No updated resume, no pipeline of clients, nothing mapped out. Just the name PHEEL and the decision to go for it.
I’ve been a photographer for over a decade, and that was really the foundation of how this all started. At first, I was simply helping businesses show up better online through high-quality imagery. But as the industry evolved, so did we. What we do now goes far beyond photos, we create full brand identities, produce content across platforms, design websites, and manage the entire digital presence for our clients.
At the core, we solve a problem almost every business owner has: they either don’t have the time, the consistency, or the skillset to show up online the way they need to. Some of our clients were doing everything themselves and were completely burnt out. Others had hired help before but still ended up carrying the weight of it all.
We step in and take that off their plate. We bring structure, consistency, and a level of execution that actually moves the needle. We don’t just “post content”, we build brands that people recognize and trust.
What sets PHEEL apart is how we operate. We’re efficient, we’re hands-on, and we care about the outcome. If something needs to get done and it’s within our scope, we make it happen. We’re not nickel-and-diming our clients over every small ask, we’re here to be a real partner in their business. At the same time, we’ve built strong systems and boundaries that allow us to deliver at a high level consistently.
I’m most proud of the team we’ve built and the standard we’ve created. The people behind PHEEL are hardworking, reliable, and genuinely invested in the brands we work with. That’s not something you can fake.
If there’s one thing I’d want potential clients to know, it’s this: we don’t take this lightly. When you trust us with your brand, we treat it like it matters, because it does.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing a team feels easy now but that’s because I have the right team. It didn’t start that way. We grew into this.
What we have isn’t built on micromanaging or constant oversight. There’s a level of trust and respect where everyone knows their role and executes. I’m not chasing people down or checking every detail, they know the expectations and they just get it done, and they get it done well.
Over time, those working relationships naturally turned into real friendships. And I know some people might say that’s not “professional,” but it works for us. There’s mutual respect, strong communication, and a shared standard, and that’s why it runs so smoothly.
When it comes to hiring, I’ve learned to trust my gut. I’ve made the mistake before of ignoring it, and it never works out. Now, I hire based on character first, someone who is humble, kind, and driven. You can teach skill. You can’t teach attitude or work ethic.
I’ll choose someone with less experience but the right mindset and willingness to grow over a perfect resume any day. That’s how you build a team that actually lasts.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Most of our new clients come from referrals or seeing our work firsthand. We don’t advertise much, we let the results speak for themselves. I’m so grateful to clients who share their experience and help spread the word. That said, I’m planning to invest in ads soon to take things even further.
