Michael, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Growing up being surrounded by many different forms of creativity, Over time I began to express myself through what inspired me most. I have always felt a natural connection to fashion, as it has deeply influenced my life. From spending hours choosing the right pieces, sketching designs that came to mind, even practicing my runway walk, each experience from my childhood shaped me into who I am today.
Fashion has given me the space to express myself freely and authentically as it allows for me to showcase my ideas and talents. As I continue to grow as a designer, model, and creator I hope to use my passion to inspire others and share my artistic perspective to the world.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a high school student currently balancing my education while actively building my career path in the fashion industry. Managing both school and a creative career has taught me many valuable skills like discipline, time management, commitment, and the importance of staying focused on my goals.
Through my work as a designer and model I strive to bring my creative ideas and visuals to life. What I showcase is generated from my perspective of the creative field. Whether it’s through styling, visual content, or design, I believe that there is true value in capturing fashion in its truest form.
What sets me apart from others is that I am so young pursuing fields that are often occupied by people further along in their careers, and for that I am very proud. The growth of my creative journey and the confidence that I have built along the way reminds me that following what truly inspires you, even at a young age and even just starting out, can lead you to many meaningful opportunities.
As I continue to grow academically and creatively, I will continue to develop my voice in the fashion industry, opening new doors and opportunities for my future.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is having the ability to turn my ideas into something real. It’s rewarding to know that something you created can leave a impression or inspire others.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The fashion industry can bring many challenges, especially when it comes to keeping up with trends and developing new ideas. I realized that I was trying to do everything at once, and I learned that it’s not always possible to manage multiple things at once. However, balancing school while pursuing my career has taught me the importance of patience and allowing for each project to have the time it deserves.
