We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nicólas Soul a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nicólas, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
The story of Muse Sessions is a testament to the power of a visionary and an architect working in sync. It started with a conversation where Ania Diallo brought forward a clear, ambitious idea for a performance series that captured the raw energy of Nashville artists in a premium way. When she brought that vision to me, the next hour was spent realizing that I had the infrastructure through NuRenaissance to be the engine for that vision.
The next day was about shifting immediately from a creative “what if” into execution mode. I had to build the technical backbone, which meant choreographing a multi-camera setup to capture every angle and dialing in a specialized audio signal chain to ensure these live sessions met a high-end studio standard. It was about taking a mobile-friendly setup and pushing it to a cinematic level that most people wouldn’t expect from that gear.
The next month is where we really moved beyond the idea phase and into a real business. That was the Onboarding Phase, which was all about the heavy lifting of logistics. We had to curate the right lineup of artists like Native Sol and J Marshall, secure the venue, and build a repeatable three-phase system for Onboarding, Production, and Post-Production. This ensured every artist received a professional, consistent experience.
Once the sessions were wrapped, Ania then mapped out a brilliant rollout strategy to ensure the content had maximum impact. By the time we launched in February, we weren’t just winging it. We were following a strict three-day-a-week cadence where we dropped teasers on Mondays, full performances on Wednesdays, and BTS content on Fridays. It turned a few intense days of filming into two months of consistent, high-impact brand presence. The magic was in that specific split where Ania provided the spark and the strategy, and I built the engine that drove it forward.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Nick Aluoch, though many in the creative community know me as Nicólas Soul. My journey into this industry began out of necessity. As a Kenyan American hip-hop artist, I realized early on that a great song needs a professional visual identity to match its quality. I taught myself the technical side of the craft, from audio engineering in Logic Pro X to cinematography, specifically to bring my own projects to life. That obsession with high end execution eventually evolved into NuRenaissance, a media company dedicated to helping creators bridge the gap between their ideas and a market ready product.
Through NuRenaissance, I provide a comprehensive suite of creative services including high fidelity video production, cinematic editing, graphic design, web design, and social media management. I have curated a full stack of essential tools designed to support an artist’s entire ecosystem. By integrating these specific disciplines, I ensure that a creator’s brand identity remains cohesive and professional across every digital touchpoint. My goal is to serve as a sophisticated resource that handles the technical complexities of a rollout so the artist can remain focused on their primary craft.
What sets me apart is this dual perspective. I am an artist who understands the vulnerability and the stakes of putting work out into the world. Because I have stood on both sides of the microphone, I approach every project with an intentionality that goes beyond just getting the shot. I am looking for the soul of the performance and how it connects with an audience.
I am most proud of the infrastructure we have built to support the Nashville creative scene, proving that a disciplined workflow and a commitment to the craft can produce iconic results without a million dollar studio. The NuRenaissance brand is built on the idea of a modern day Renaissance where the artist is empowered by the tools of the trade rather than limited by them. We are not just providing a service; we are building a new standard for what the next generation of independent media should look and sound like.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
The enlightenment I would share is that being a creative is not just about making things look pretty; it is about high level problem solving. Every project is a puzzle where the pieces are emotions, technical constraints, and deadlines. My journey has been about mastering the technical tools so well that they no longer get in the way of the human connection I am trying to capture. If you can understand that the technical and the emotional are two sides of the same coin, you begin to see why this work is so intensive.
What I want people to benefit from is the realization that creativity is a structured pursuit. It requires just as much infrastructure and strategy as any traditional business, but it also requires the willingness to trust your intuition when the data does not give you the full answer.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to level the playing field. I want to prove that you do not need a big record label or a massive studio to be professional. I want to build a system where any independent artist, whether they are in Nashville or Kenya, has access to the same high quality tools as the biggest stars in the world. I want NuRenaissance to be the gold standard for helping artists build their own legacy from the ground up.
