We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mike Fox. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mike below.
Mike, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
A feature film that is currently on Apple+TV, Amazon Prime, Tubi, Fandango, Vudu and more. We were able to use our creative knowledge and skills throughout the entire process. We also made impact and a difference and a lot of lives, both young and old. From actors, actress, crew members, professionals and more.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As owner of Splash Designworks and Crystal Fox Films, I’ve been a designer since I was young, and now an international multi award-winning filmmaker. Basically, I design everything from branding, marketing, logos, websites, brochures, social media creatives, postcards, ads, publications and covers, and now more than ever, promos, commercials, videos, shorts, verticals, documentaries, interviews, film shorts and full length feature films.
Creativity is not something you can really learn, it’s something you already have — and are. Over quite some time, I’ve put that into a more practical sense of using it to land jobs and make money. And continued growth in learning is truly key.
One thing that I feel is different, is that if it’s a design project that I’m hired to produce from a customer or client, I don’t tell them what to design, I collaborate and work directly with them. I try to get their vision of their own brand – and make that brand come alive to bring awareness and exposure.
I feel that their success helps my success. If my customers are excited about their designs, their brand and what I’ve produced for them – than I’m excited and share the success. When it comes to my own projects, of course I have more freedom in creative style, but I still have the “teamwork makes the dream work” mentality and collaborate on other professionals to get the vision come to life.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I have a double goal. My first is to produce the highest quality, creative content my customer is needing for them to succeed in their own business. My second is the film and video content I produce – to make as high quality content as possible with creative flair that is not boring or the same old same old.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’ve had to do a lot of pivoting and adjusting over the years. Mainly with our second sub-company, Crystal Fox Films. It’s in conjunction with Splash Designworks and we produce almost any type of video and film project. The constant need to update and keep up with the trends really does keep me always on the lookout for what’s new and effective.
