Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Terrence Wells. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Terrence, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I honestly don’t remember the first time I said to myself, “I want to be a full-time artist”, because the thought of it genuinely terrified me. For me all of my art was just something fun to do. It was relaxing. It was my calm. I’ve never really saw it to be anything else . However, as I get older and my hard work got better. I started thinking, hey, maybe I could do this full-time or part-time ,some gig work or something, but there was always that little doubt or or fear in the back of my mind saying just stay here in your safe space. I remember past girlfriends trying to get me to start an LLC and I would get into the process and then just shut down and never do it. So it wasn’t until I was married and I had support that was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced that I knew that it was time and not just because it was something my wife me wanted to do, but because it was something that my family needed and i love creating! Now still I don’t know that exact date or point but I know it’s because of my wife Whitney.

Terrence, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Terrence Wells and I got into art at an early age and photography around college. It’s always been an excellent outlet for me emotionally and creatively. I offer services in photography as well as, fine art prints ,and I also have a 360 booth that is for rent. My business services include includes event photography from private parties, corporate events birthdays etc.( I still dont offer wedding photography but I am a new dad so I will see) and 360 both is available for rent for just about anything event that you may need one for. Over the years I’ve had clients with different needs and expectations, but I’ve always approach each person with an open mind and understanding to their specific vision and it’s helped me grow not just clientele but as a person. The thing about me that makes me different from another photographer you might seek out is my attention to detail and my purpose. I want to make photos that will be beautiful memories .I understand the deep importance of what it means to be behind that camera because the images that I capture might be the only image you have of that person some day. So I want them to be beautiful, I want them to be meaningful, and I want them to tell your story. That’s what you’ll get from you when I’m behind the camera and you’re in front of my lens

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
One simple thing anyone can do is give credit to the people who help bring your ideas to life. It doesn’t take anything away from you, your brand, or your message to pause and mention—whether in a sidebar or a quick comment—that John Doe or Jane Doe illustrated the piece, took the photo, or created the craft. If anything, it shows appreciation and respect for the creativity that made the work possible and it only cost you a little time.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
About six months ago I had a baby girl, and that changed not just my business but my whole life. As I’ve mentioned before, weddings aren’t something I typically offer in my packages. The one I took recently was actually my first in about five years, and it definitely reminded me why I stepped away from them. The memories were something amazing to create, but the workload really weighs me down still, I agreed to do it because my daughter needed my support, and I’ll always step up for her. It hasn’t slowed me down—it’s just shifted my priorities a bit. These days I’m more focused on projects that help support my family rather than personal projects, and she’s more than worth it.
