We recently connected with CaMesha Reece and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, CaMesha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I started my real estate business in 2023 after being laid off from a global Fortune 500 company where I had spent the previous 20 years as a human resources executive. My career spanned several industries, and that experience turned out to be an incredible foundation for real estate because the business is ultimately about people, understanding their needs, navigating negotiations, and guiding them through some of the most important decisions of their lives.
While I was earning a good income and enjoyed the flexibility of working from home, I wasn’t feeling fulfilled or challenged anymore. I had already decided that if I ever left that company, I wouldn’t be returning to corporate America. What I didn’t know at the time was that a layoff was imminent and that it would open the door to real estate and ultimately to building my brand as The Mindful REALTOR®.
Now, almost three years into the business, I often tell people I wish I had gotten my real estate license at 18. Real estate is one of the most powerful vehicles for building wealth, and having that knowledge and opportunity earlier in life could have been transformational.
That said, I also believe everything happened exactly when it was meant to. My corporate career gave me the communication skills, empathy, and negotiation experience that now help me guide clients with clarity and confidence. Today I’m grateful to be in an industry where I can approach real estate mindfully, helping people not only buy and sell property, but also build long-term wealth and peace of mind.

CaMesha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The biggest problem I solve for my clients is uncertainty. Buying or selling a home is one of the most significant financial and emotional decisions people make, and many people feel overwhelmed by the process. My role is to bring clarity, strategy, and calm to what can otherwise feel stressful. I guide my clients through negotiations, market decisions, and timing so they can move forward with confidence.
What sets me apart is the mindset I bring to real estate. After spending 20 years as a human resources executive, I learned how to truly listen to people, understand their goals, and navigate complex situations with empathy and strategy. Those skills translate directly into real estate. I also approach my work through the lens of my brand, The Mindful REALTOR®, which means being thoughtful, intentional, and focused on long-term outcomes rather than just transactions.
What I’m most proud of is the recognition I’ve received as a top producer so early in my career. I was ranked #2 in Texas out of more than 10,000 agents and #3 in the United States out of over 82,000 agents within my brokerage in production in January 2026. That achievement means a lot to me because it reflects the trust my clients place in me and the dedication I bring to serving them at the highest level.
What I want potential clients and followers to know about me and my brand is that I genuinely care about the people I serve. I’m not just focused on closing deals; I’m focused on building relationships and helping my clients make decisions that support both their financial growth and their peace of mind. Real estate can be life-changing, and I feel honored to help people navigate that journey.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building a strong local community through my Facebook group. Instead of relying solely on traditional advertising, I focused on creating a digital gathering place where local residents can connect, share information, and stay updated on what’s happening in our area.
The group has become a hub for conversations about local events, businesses, neighborhoods, and of course, real estate. By consistently showing up, answering questions, highlighting local businesses, and sharing helpful market insights, I’ve been able to position myself as a trusted resource rather than just another agent trying to sell something.
What makes this approach so powerful is that it’s relationship-driven. People in the group get to know me long before they ever need a REALTOR®. When the time comes to buy, sell, or invest, there’s already trust and familiarity built in.
In many ways, the group has become both a community-building platform and a marketing engine. It allows me to serve my community first, and the business growth naturally follows from those authentic connections.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
As an avid reader, I’m constantly learning from books and resources that challenge the way I think about business, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Three that have had a particularly strong influence on me are The 7 Levels of Communication by Michael J. Maher, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, and Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss.
The 7 Levels of Communication shaped how I approach building a business. It reinforces the idea that sustainable success comes from authentic relationships and community, not just transactions. That philosophy has guided how I grow my real estate business by focusing on connection, referrals, and creating value for the people around me.
The Four Agreements has had a powerful influence on my personal and professional mindset. Its principles: being impeccable with your word, not taking things personally, not making assumptions, and always doing your best, serve as simple but profound reminders for how to show up in both business and life.
And Never Split the Difference transformed how I think about negotiation. Chris Voss’s emphasis on tactical empathy and communication has been incredibly valuable in real estate, where the ability to understand people and navigate complex conversations can make a meaningful difference for clients.
Together, these books reinforce a philosophy I try to live by in my work: great businesses are built on strong relationships, clear communication, and a grounded mindset.
