We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jade Jawish. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jade below.
Jade, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Missing my passion for dance as a stay‑at‑home mom, I found myself craving real “me” time. When I couldn’t find it in my area, I decided to create it. I built a space where women could show up exactly as they are—free of judgment, free of responsibilities, and ready to Shake it, Have Fun, & Skip Bedtime (a phrase that somehow became our signature).
There’s something powerful about a group of women letting go and dancing the way they did when they were younger. What started as a simple idea—to host dance fitness classes and support other women‑owned businesses—quickly grew into a community rooted in connection, support, and friendship.
One class turned into many through word of mouth, eventually leading to annual retreats and a community I once only dreamed about. Teaching within the bandwidth I have as a SAHM, I found something that brought me joy and purpose again.
And along the way, I’ve met the most incredible women—women who, honestly, just want a fun night out and a place to breathe.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve spent 19 years in the dance and fitness world, and as a lifelong movement lover, I’ve always believed that wellness and self‑care should feel both energizing and welcoming. My background as an NFL cheerleader, teammate, dance coach, choreographer, and fitness instructor has shaped the way I lead—pushing you to dig a little deeper while also creating a space where you can drop your guard and just be yourself.
Moms in Motion has grown in ways I never could have imagined over the past three years. We’ve hosted monthly dance fitness classes—including free community service classes and donation‑based sessions—across 55 locations throughout the Delmarva area. Our free local live DJ classes have become a highlight, bringing out 60+ women ready to move, laugh, and reconnect.
Along the way, we’ve welcomed four new instructors, been featured in three digital magazines, partnered with 92 local businesses, hosted a 12‑week Hiring Our Heroes internship, and sold out two annual health and wellness retreats.
But the thing I’m most proud of isn’t the numbers—it’s the friendships formed, the confidence rediscovered, and the unforgettable memories created. All of it sparked through the magic and power of dance.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve never considered myself great at social media, and honestly, I didn’t think much about it at first. But once I started my business, I realized it was one of the easiest ways to reach the women I wanted to serve. As a SAHM, though, I didn’t want to be glued to my phone—so I made a promise to myself: I’ll share what I want, when I want, and I’ll show up as my real self. No trends, no pressure, just authenticity.
For my business, follower count has never been the goal. If people aren’t actually coming to class, the number doesn’t mean anything. I wanted the experience to speak for itself. And it did. Word of mouth became my marketing—women sharing their own stories, their own joy, their own “you HAVE to try this” moments. That organic energy is what helped everything grow.
If you’re just starting to build your social media presence, the best thing you can do is be genuinely yourself. That’s what people connect with, and that’s what lasts.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Highlighting local businesses has become one of the strongest ways to bring new clients into the community because it turns every class into more than a workout—it becomes a connection point. What I love most is that I’m not limited to the health and wellness world. I’ve partnered with medical practices, beauty pros, dentists, restaurants, and so many others. It proves that this isn’t just a fitness class in a gym; it’s real people from diverse industries coming together in one space. And honestly…that’s the coolest part.
