We were lucky to catch up with Rachel Frisk recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rachel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I call myself an intuitive artist, and I think of it more as my life’s journey rather than a skill I possess. I learned to be an intuitive artist by following what lights me up. I didn’t know this was something I could create a career out of until I followed my interests and what brought me joy. It has been a multi-decade long exploration. As a massage therapist, reiki practitioner and “sensitive one”, I have always been drawn to the subtleties of energy and expression. I’ve been fascinated with the healing arts, with astrology, numerology, herbal medicine, meditation, along with drawing and painting. I was drawn to take courses highlighting the unseen, specifically in psychic development, energy healing, and intuitive art. After years of private study and development, I began offering sessions publicly in 2025.
Looking back, I wouldn’t rush it. Each teacher and experience appeared at the moment I was ready for it, and I continue to learn as I evolve. I believe I’m exactly where I need to be, and all is right on time. The most essential skill in this work is trust. I have found that my own self-doubt, my inner critic, or my own fears have been my biggest obstacle standing in the way of moving forward and practicing more. Removing the barrier of self-doubt and trusting my intuition is key.

Rachel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m an intuitive artist, licensed massage therapist, and reiki practitioner.
I offer intuitive painting sessions called Auragraphs, where we explore your energy, your life, and your questions through intuitive messages, oracle cards, colors, shapes, and symbols. It’s ultimately a conversation to bring clarity and reflection—a reading of your energy offering insight into your past, present, and probable futures. I begin the session by guiding us through a meditation to “ignite the soul,” and I bring to the paper what I see and sense in real time.
You leave with a painting that acts as a personal map to refer back to in any moment of self-doubt or uncertainty. Clients have contacted me months later when part of the painting reveals new meaning or insight. For me, this intuitive work takes courage, trust, and awareness to turn my sensitive nature into my super power. Because I’ve walked through self-doubt myself, I hold a compassionate space for clients navigating uncertainty. Time and time again, something unexpected reveals itself — a symbol, a message, a thread of meaning that neither of us could have predicted. I am discovering alongside my clients, and having that time to connect, listen, and reflect back is a gift for us both.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I actually started out on this journey to become an architect. I received an undergraduate degree in Architectural Studies, and worked at a firm for the first year after college. At 23 I was entering the working world already burned out from many sleepless nights and the rigorous competitive environment that architecture school is. That year I experienced a profound mental health crisis that forced me to step away from architecture. It became the doorway into a deeper spiritual journey of healing and self-discovery.
That period of upheaval ultimately redirected me. It was a healing crisis that I found myself in, and looking back, this was all happening for me, not to me. It led me to seek out opportunities that would help me slow down, heal, and listen to my inner voice. I pivoted into caregiving, studying plant medicine and massage therapy, and eventually energy work and psychic art. What felt like a rupture at the time became a redirection toward the work I was truly meant to do.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
As we live through these times where we can find ourselves on our phones more than with our friends, family, or community, I hope to bring an opportunity for connection. Not only from person to person, but connection to oneself—emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. I hope to provide for others what meditation and painting do for me by creating a space that is safe, healing, and inspiring. My deeper mission is to help sensitive, intuitive people trust themselves in a world that often tells them not to.
