We were lucky to catch up with Greer Bowley recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Greer, thanks for joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?

I really hope that every time a customer comes through our door they feel appreciated! I do always try to go out of my way to speak to every customer as if they are a friend and really hold their hand and walk them through individual plant care that is tailored to their environment and lifestyle. I also love sharing my own plants from my collection with customers who have similar interests to me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Greer Bowley and I started the Green Crow in my basement around 2019. The Green Crow is a small “boutique” house plant and terrarium store. I have always been very interested in interior plants, my mom had an interest in plants and passed that passion down to me! Once I started selling my home grown houseplants on facebook and then joining the Toledo Farmers market I realized that there was a market for what I was doing. Finding success at local markets and online gave me the push to open a very small store front in Rossford OH and start teaching workshops and classes in our local area. After almost 4 years in Rossford we finally made the jump to a larger store front in down town Toledo.

If its plant related, we can help with it! Not only do we teach classes and run a store front we are also active in our downtown farmers market and other local pop up markets and festivals. We do also offer green spacing services for local businesses where we install and care for plants within their business or home as decor. We offer repotting and plant care services where you bring your plants into to us or we travel and help you repot and tend to plants when you dont want to or are unable to!

What really sets us apart is a life time of knowledge and the ability to help with just about anything plant related! No other place near us offers green spacing services, or will they travel to help care for your plants! If you have a plant need I’ll hop in my van and come and help!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

We get told our social media presence is amazing and that is a huge compliment for us! My husband and business partner Matt Bowley has a natural skill and was able to really get us up and running as soon as we started and has taught me so many lessons about being consistent and authentic. Really just being ourselves and being authentic with our audience has made our online presence grow.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Being out in the world! Participating in farmers markets and local events has gained us so many new customers and partnerships with other local businesses! Getting to be out in the world and talking to and engaging with all sorts of people has really brought us so many customers.
