Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Danielle E Stringer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Danielle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Dandi Cleaning & Organizing (DCO) is the result of my deep-rooted desire to help others, my journey toward personal fulfillment beyond the corporate world, and my commitment to finding joy in my career. This venture wasn’t born from a formal business plan; it emerged organically from my life experiences, challenges, and the meaningful connections I’ve forged along the way.
My foundational experiences began in Michigan, where I spent countless hours alongside my grandparents at our family business, Russo Engineering. By accompanying my grandfather on site surveys and attending client meetings, I absorbed invaluable lessons about hard work, integrity, and the importance of treating people with respect. I thrived on being useful, often found tidying up spaces and offering support wherever needed, which earned me the affectionate nickname “Dandi.” Whenever I entered a room, I’d hear, “Dandi is here!”—a greeting that made me feel connected and valued, fueling my passion for helping others.
In 2008, I took a leap of faith and moved to Georgia to pursue my degree at the University of West Georgia. Like many college students, I needed extra income, so I began cleaning and organizing for friends of my aunt and uncle. This side hustle was more than just a way to make some cash; I found that my work brought relief and a sense of lightness to my clients. Witnessing their transformations ignited my desire to continue this path.
However, in 2009, my life changed overnight when I was involved in a serious car accident that left me with a traumatic brain injury and left-side paralysis. My four-month recovery at Shepherd Center in Atlanta was one of the most challenging chapters of my life. I underwent intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and the journey back to independence forced me to slow down and question what truly mattered. I was determined not just to survive but to thrive.
Through sheer resilience, I achieved milestones I once thought impossible: I completed a marathon, competed in a bodybuilding contest, and graduated in 2016 with a business degree. After graduation, I ventured into the corporate world, believing that following the expected path would yield fulfillment. Yet, I felt disconnected from my work and longed for the joy that came from helping clients in their homes.
The turning point came when a previous employer asked me to care for his newborn twins. This intimate opportunity reminded me of the importance of connection and trust in my work. Around that same time, I joined Meck Organizing, where I deepened my skills and gained insights into how to grow my business intentionally. In 2022, I officially launched Dandi Cleaning & Organizing.
The vision behind DCO became clear: clutter is not just physical; it is also emotional. Many clients feel embarrassed or ashamed about their spaces, often apologizing before I even walk in. I realized that I was not merely offering cleaning or organizing services; I was providing relief, dignity, and a fresh start. I wanted to build a compassionate, non-judgmental company where clients feel as if a trusted friend is helping them.
With over ten years of experience in this field, I strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment for my clients. Many have become like extended family to me, and the relationships I build matter just as much as the results I deliver.
Surviving my accident gave me a second chance at life. I now understand that true success lies not in following a conventional path but in waking up excited to do work that genuinely makes a difference. DCO allows me to blend the strong work ethic my grandfather instilled in me with the resilience I’ve developed through my recovery.
This business is my legacy and my gratitude in action. Every home I enter is an opportunity to help someone feel lighter, calmer, and more at peace. That is work I am proud to do, honoring my past while building a brighter future for myself and others.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I’m Danielle! Welcome to Dandi Cleaning & Organizing!
I started this business because I love helping folks simplify their lives through decluttering and creating sustainable organizational systems that help to maintain order. Life happens. Keeping up with housework is hard. My mission is to brighten the day—and space—of every client!
The passion I have for this job started as a teenager. I have always been an organized person, and eventually I began regularly cleaning for my grandparents. Each time I entered their house, mop and bucket in-hand, my grandfather would call out, “Dandi is here!”
Today, with over two decades of professional experience, I embrace my grandfather’s catchphrase as a tagline. “Dandi is here” and ready to help clean and organize your home, your office, your time, and your life.
Here’s what sets Dandi Cleaning & Organizing apart:
* **Personalized Approach:** I don’t just clean; I tailor my services to each client’s unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences.
* **Sustainable Solutions:** I focus on creating long-lasting organizational systems, not just quick fixes.
* **Experienced and Reliable:** With over two decades of experience, you can trust that the job will be done right.
* **More Than Just Cleaning:** I help clients reduce stress, gain control of their spaces, and ultimately, improve their quality of life.
I am most proud of the positive impact I’ve made in the lives of my clients, transforming their homes and offices into functional, stress-free havens. Potential clients should know that when they choose Dandi Cleaning & Organizing, they’re choosing a partner in creating a more organized, peaceful, and enjoyable life.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
“The customer is always right” is a lesson I had to unlearn from my 10+ years in the restaurant industry. While it makes sense when dealing with food, it doesn’t translate well to this field. There’s a reason individuals hire professionals in areas where they don’t thrive. My organized brain functions differently than those who embrace “organized chaos.” I approach my clients’ lives and homes like Tetris, providing systems that enable their success. I
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2009 I was passenger in a horrific car accident. I suffered a brain injury and left side paralysis. Taught myself how to walk again at the age of 21. Was told I would never be the same again. Since then I’ve graduated college with a business degree, ran a marathon, competed in a body building competition, and started my own successful business. That accident proved to me I could do anything I put my mind to. Resilience is what kept me alive and keeps me going through the hardships of business ownership and life.
