We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Doyle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Showing clients you appreciate them is something I think most folks want to do – but it’s not always clear how to do it in a meaningful way. What’s one of the best examples of client appreciation you can share with us?
I always send my clients a postcard after they book their trip, and a thank-you card is waiting for them when they return. I also love to throw in cool extras for their trip when I can. If my clients are traveling to Walt Disney World for example I send them disposable ponchos to have one hand in case a Florida shower pops up. In the past, I have also sent Birthday or First Trip buttons to my Disney clients, personalized with their favorite characters.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was drawn to becoming a travel agent who helped clients with Disney trips because I have always had so much fun and joy during my trips, and I wanted to share that with others. I also help clients with cruises and other destinations, but my love of Disney is what brought me to travel.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I send my clients thank-you cards at the end of their trip, and I also send a newsletter to past clients on a regular basis. I also thank my clients for referring new clients to me. Nothing means more to me than a happy client who refers me to others.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I am a natural introvert, and I have had to overcome that to some degree by putting myself “out there” on social media and promoting my business. It is a process, and I am still learning and growing, but there are things I was very uncomfortable with, such as my Friday lives on Social Media, that I look forward to now.
