Terry , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My wife and I came up with the idea when we took our first cruise in the Caribbean together. We met a travel advisor that owned their own agency. After a pleasant conversation about their experiences and their business, we were hooked and decided this is exactly what we wanted to do for ourselves.
Terry , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are a travel agency that provides complimentary travel services to our clients. We book travel worldwide for our clients by offering expert advice based on our own experiences. We curate the perfect itinerary for solo travelers, family travel, destination weddings and honeymoons, group travel, Holy Land and Faith Based Travel. We also help companies and corporations plan their conference and employee incentive trips. We are able to assist with all types of travel including luxury and expedition travel.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
We started our business as a side hustle. We grind 7 days a week. We attended networking events after we got off from our primary jobs. We networked and met with clients in the evenings and weekends. We worked our tails off to build our company from nothing to a healthy multimillion dollar company with 12 travel advisors who are a part of our team. We set up goals and knocked them down one by one.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
We had to pivot our strategy during COVID. We started the business 3 months before the world shut down due to the pandemic. We had to reset and figure out a new game plan and strategy to continue to build our dreams.
