Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Erick Pineda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Erick thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How has Covid changed your business model?
Being in a band post-Covid has been a huge challenge. When the lock downs happened, we needed to pivot to an online only model. We ended up doing some live streamed festivals and those presented some technological challenges that we had to figure out. How could we play together if we weren’t in the same room? We released our album COLLIDER in March of 2021 with Lolipop Records and we could not support it with a tour or any shows. We ended up driving to L.A. and recording/filming the whole album live at the Lolipop Records studio.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are a band called Citrus Clouds. All 3 of us were born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and met at Maryvale Highschool. We are part of the second wave of shoegaze in this town, the first was the beautiful noise scene of the early 90s.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
We hope to write songs that are timeless and albums that outlive us. We hope to write songs that are real and that capture the beauty of the desert that we live in.

Any advice for managing a team?
Many things motivate different people. We allow our creativity to push forward and everyone has a voice in the band. When you let creatives be creative, amazing things happen.
