For me, my heroes are the next generation, including my own children. It might seem unconventional, but isn’t it curious how we’ve achieved incredible advancements like AI and exploring Mars, yet unresolved issues like access to clean water persist? My dad, Ira D. Roach Jr., is my hero. He’s the heart behind my book, Daddy Knows Best, where each chapter captures the wisdom he’s passed down to me. Lessons like: Always keep your word. Be a leader, not a follower. And never let your natural height determine the height of your goals.
I’ve watched him not only raise me and my two siblings with strength and love but also step into the role of a patriarch for our family. He took on the responsibility of raising his own brothers and sisters because his father struggled with alcoholism. My mother, Jane Henry, is my hero. She founded and runs a small business restoring antiques, Jane Henry Studios. Like her mother before her, a painter — who painted until the day she died — she is an extremely hard worker. I never doubted I could run my own gallery, Harsh Collective, because I watched my mom do it all my life. She is a true jack-of-all-trades in a male-dominated and heavily physical field. She’s taught me that I can do anything I set my mind to if I’m willing to work hard enough, and, like her, I always am. Read more>>

My daddy has been my hero all my life. He was a Sergeant in the army and in the reserves and served his country for a total of 10 years. As a child I felt his absence but I knew he was away from home for a very important reason. He was serving his country to protect the citizens.
