Our children are our future. Education is at the heart at developing their skills and abilities and yet year after year we hear about the degrading state of our educational system. Our nation has spent trillions of dollars on failed programs that research and experts had promised would work. Achievement gaps persist, performance declines are accelerating and so it is of paramount importance that we explore novel ideas and solutions. You might not agree with many or any of the ideas below, and we certainly are not endorsing policies – our hope is just to create a space where bright, dedicated folks from the community can share their ideas – so that we can all come together and better understand each others experiences, concerns and how we might move forward together to build a brighter future.

Most people are aware of the issue with plastic pollution, but few are aware of real ways to solve it. Recycling has been touted as a solution, but less than 9% of all plastic has been recycled and it is not a material that can be recycled effectively at scale. A lot of people think plastic is like glass or aluminum where it can be recycled over and over, but this isn’t true, plastic can only be recycled once or twice before it becomes too weak to use. In the military rank outweighs a person’s background and education. It does not really matter if a junior enlisted service member has more education, experience, or better solutions, they are often times not recognized or heard for the value that they can bring to better the organization. Officers who enlist are automatically thought of as superior, smarter, and more experienced, and therefore they have the final say. This type of thinking and behavior happens across all branches of service and from my point of view this is a grave injustice to the employees, employers, and the organization as a whole. Read more>>

Thinking that more is truly more. In the farming industry commercial scale growers behave as if more is more. We as a nation are over consumers leaving the producers with a heavy burden to feed the masses. Many farms have to be one dimensional and grow or raise only one thing whether it’s corn all the way down to cows for dairy and meat. But what happens when they are no longer in demand or if another “COVID” hits leaving these farms with more produce than can be delivered to the people.
