We were lucky to catch up with Nichola DePass recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nichola, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe that consistency yields success. A steady pace in business; in life for that matter, wins the race.
I’ve had many interactions with people of varying ages during my career and prior to. I came to the realization that, with technology and accessibility to so much information a great number of people opt for the “instant gratification” path.
Yes, having and getting everything now is a great feeling, but maintaining is another story entirely.
This is the classic two cars on a journey and black car is steady and consistent to the next light and the red one roaring and moving in and out of traffic to get ahead. Ultimately they both end up at the same light at the same time.
Black car at a steady pace arrives calm, cool and collected.
Red car with roaring speed and maneuvers arrives adrenaline pumping, blood pressure high and frustrated to see black car next to them. LOL.
Business and life both require us to be clear in thought and implement strategic plans to be a success and a steady pace makes the road to success a more gratifying one.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My brand Nichola Francesca LLC is a multifaceted brand. Interior Design is at the forefront and the catalyst for the parent company. Nichola Francesca Couture encompasses both Jewelry and Fashion Design.
Nichola Francesca LLC is a full-service Interior Design/Project Management/Client Representation/Client Maintenance firm. Our client is the driving force behind what we do. Listening and really understanding the needs of our clients is probably the most important take away from any meeting. Being present and intently listening provides everything we need to give our clients exactly what they want or need in their project’s result. Ultimately, it is about them, their dream, their space, and their experience. We are here to help them bring it all to life.
Our firm prides itself on our customer service and organization skills. Creativity and design skillsets are of course the driving force, but Interior Design is like a timepiece and synchronicity is required to keep all parts moving in unison. Communication with our clients and vendors are paramount. We keep everyone well informed through the process and provide vendors with very well-organized directions to eliminate or reduce mistakes.
We are a group of type “A” personalities, but a positive energy flow and levelheaded approach that I empress upon my team keeps our projects stress level very low. There is a solution to everything. A solution can only be found if the situation is met with a level head and positivity, so it is a mindset.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I have been an Interior Design for over 17 years, I’ve helped to build companies and was a partner at one point prior to starting my own firm. I started my firm six months prior to COVID. What myself and everyone was facing at that time was unprecedented.
I have always been extremely determined and focused. My mindset at the time was “I will not stop. Keep moving forward and do not look back” I was determined to make it through a time that so many were faltering. People I knew who lost their businesses, working in an industry that required direct contact with clients, vendors, property administrators. Deficit to say the lease.
My mindset, my faith and full trust in God is all I had. I wanted to keep myself, my team and my vendors all going. I found myself at the helm of a company where so many depended upon you during that time and a new company in an uncertain time I was not going to let them down.
I pushed to accelerate a few of my projects to start quickly and slowed down others to keep us all continuously busy As faith would have all the buildings we were working in never shutdown their operations. Using that to my advantage, my decision to accelerate some projects and slowing the others it placed my team and I in a perfect position to ride the wave.
It was a tremendous risk, but anyone who knows me knows all too well that I am never afraid to take a risk. I jump fearlessly because I always know God will catch me.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The opportunity to bring to life someone’s dream. This is the most rewarding aspect and it is exactly why I decided to become an Interior Design. Someone’s personal space is their sanctuary, their nesting place and the place where they are safe. To be a part of something like that is priceless and so fragile at the same time.
