Over the years, after talking with tens of thousands of entrepreneurs, artists and creatives, almost every success story we’ve heard has been filled with stories of failure. Unfortunately, in our view the media rarely covers these parts of the story – instead we often read summaries that make it seem like success happened “overnight.” However, what we’ve learned in our conversations with so many successful folks is that failure is core ingredient in the recipe for future success. While consuming my weekly media diet I watched the Hot Ones interview with Bob Odenkirk, at some point in the interview he says something about how great art is made by aiming at failure. That those big risks, the important ones, are the only ones that reap big rewards. If failure is not on the menu then neither truly is anything exceptional, new or daring. Henry Ford once said that if he asked his customers what they wanted they would say a faster horse. We have to take risks or we will land at mundane every time or at best, a faster horse. Someone has to turn and take direct aim into the abyss. Failure is perhaps the true American enterprise, success is the anomaly. We have to aim to fail in order to succeed. I believe like most business owners failing is necessary for the growth of your business. I personally have failed many times while pursuing goals that I felt were impossible for someone like me to achieve. When I first discovered the permanent makeup industry it was during Covid. I remember sitting in my room working a seasonal job at Walmart, asking God to reveal the plans he had for my life. I came across a woman teaching course on how to do micro blading. Prior to this I had never heard of the permanent make up industry, but as I did more research I was intrigued and felt as if God answered my prayer. I’ve failed plenty. For a long time it felt like that’s all I did was fail. Iwas wrong. I wasn’t failing. I was avoiding anything uncomfortable for a long time in my life. That avoidance in itself was a failure, because I wasn’t trying. I didn’t believe in myself at first. I was terrified to try and fail, but it’s true that not trying at all is the biggest failure. Living and growing in poor family is very hard. I’ve supporting myself and sending myself to school since I was high school. I been in E – Commerce for 5years to support my studies bit since there’s so much competition and online app shopping gotten bigger, I lost customers.
