Joan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we talk about all of your success, let’s start with a story of failure. Can you open up about a time when you’ve failed?
Living and growing in poor family is very hard. I’ve supporting myself and sending myself to school since I was high school. I been in E – Commerce for 5years to support my studies bit since there’s so much competition and online app shopping gotten bigger, I lost customers.
But it didn’t stop me from looking for something to make money from. I sold foods also in my High – School. I would go to every rooms and sells biscuits or cooked food by my mom that I take to school to make little profit.
Besides that, I also love doing my nails where I ended doing as my business and started building clientele that I am doing now and help me to afford to travel in some Islands in the Philippines

Joan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Joan Sung , 23 years old . Originally from Philippines. NailTechnician for 3 years and a traveler. I’ve been in E – Commerce but it didn’t work for me but having learning from my Bachelor in Business, I used it to create my own business using my own talent with something that I loved doing which is doing nails .
I offer multiple services such as Gel Extensions & Dry Manicure . I also try to help and teach people about my knowledge, Helping aspiring nail technician to have knowledge about the industry and spreading kindness and love by sharing.
I am mostly proud of being able to continue and push through what I have started. From having nothing to owning own studio to being in America and able to accept clients and continue what I been doing continuously pursuing my dream and finally thinking of opening my own Online Training Center to Help and teach other nail technician about the industry and what it has to offer.
And also I want them to know that, Owning a business is always better because I am able to take days off when I want and I was able to travel the Philippines

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
I started getting my initial capital by working selling food to people. I would cook and then sell it to people and save the little profit I am getting so I can start my own business that I wanted which is the nail business. It was hard but I just always tell myself that it is always “Do or Die”

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I always try to give my clients discounts and posting my works every day . And not switching brands when I know they are already good brands for my standard which the nail has to be in tact for 3-6 weeks.
