I personally manage my own social media. I see pros and cons to it. Pros- I can post what I want when I want and really engage personally with customers. And who really knows their customers better than a small business owner. Along with this I am saving funds instead of having to pay someone else to do the work for me. Cons- It is very time consuming, and with that sometimes things do not get posted in a timely manner or as often as I would like. I have just begun my journey with social media for business. So far, it is a lot of trial and error, as well as calling upon my community to get insight into the most effective approaches for building business online. As of right now, all of my content is created, edited, and posted by myself. I would love to out source this job to someone else once the business has grown, but for now, I am leaning into it and trying to have fun with creating content rather than seeing it as a daunting task. I definitely manage my own social media. As a small business owner, I’m doing as much as I can myself to grow profitably so I can eventually hire people to take on certain tasks. Managing my own social media allows me to stay authentic, connect directly with my audience, and keep costs low. For me, social media is both a creative outlet and a critical business tool. A significant amount of my website traffic comes from the reels I post on Instagram and TikTok. While I’m on both platforms, I enjoy Instagram more, so I focus most of my energy there.
