We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lj Mehri a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
LJ, appreciate you joining us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I have just begun my journey with social media for business. So far, it is a lot of trial and error, as well as calling upon my community to get insight into the most effective approaches for building business online. As of right now, all of my content is created, edited, and posted by myself. I would love to out source this job to someone else once the business has grown, but for now, I am leaning into it and trying to have fun with creating content rather than seeing it as a daunting task.

LJ, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is LJ (she/her) and I am a certified massage therapist and energy worker in California. I have always felt a natural gift for giving massage, but this intuitive understanding eventually turned into a true passion and desire for learning. I received my training and my massage therapy certification in the state of California through Life Energy Institute and the School for Integrative Psycho-Structural Bodywork.
My goal as a facilitator in this space is to provide the opportunity and the support/guidance necessary for you to unlock your own healing abilities. Together we will take conscious participation in our individual and collective evolution. Whether you are looking simply for relaxation, or to work through a deeper issue that has manifested itself physically, your session will always be holistically tailored to you.
Outside of bodywork, I am a musician and garden educator, and I also enjoy cooking, reading, and camping. I find that all of these endeavors actually enhance one another, and I am able to be a better practitioner because of my passions outside of bodywork.
To my past, current, and future clients: thank you for your courage in pursuing a journey of healing and growth, and I greatly look forward to co-creating our journey together.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Social media and a consistent newsletter. I love the newsletter because it gives me an opportunity to connect with my clients with relevant massage opportunities, highlights of myself and other practitioners, and to highlight whatever season and/or holiday we may be near.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Creative Quest by Questlove. This book explores the perspective of a creative and entrepreneur, and the importance of having multiple avenues for creativity such that it influences and supports all endeavors of life. I believe one of the greatest aspects of being a small business owner one’s ability to adapt and be creative.
