I’m excited to share my journey from a production supervisor to a business owner, and now to a speaker and thought leader. My story begins in the workforce, where every job I held was temp-to-hire.
Despite starting at the bottom, I consistently rose to leadership roles, eventually becoming the head supervisor of a plant. Along the way, I learned invaluable lessons about leadership, spirituality, wearing many hats, and treating people with respect.
However, my success wasn’t always celebrated. I was treated poorly for outperforming others, which ultimately led me to quit and take a leap of faith into entrepreneurship. Starting my own company was far from easy—I spent an entire year before earning a dime. I am the founder of Real One On One Consulting LLC, a business/management, consulting company and the founder of the #ThinkersAtWork.
I had assumed that running a business would come naturally, but the challenges taught me resilience and patience.
When I turned to LinkedIn to promote my business, I quickly discovered I was more than just a business owner—I was a thought leader. By sharing my personal stories about vulnerability, growth, and perseverance, I connected with people on a deeper level.
My content started going viral, which shifted my focus. I transitioned from being solely a business marketing consultant to becoming a paid speaker, podcast guest, music, artist, author, and global storyteller.
Networking became a cornerstone of my success.
Building meaningful relationships within my community and beyond not only helped grow my business but also allowed me to support others in theirs.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience on social media by being vulnerable. I learned the hard way that people want to see your true authentic self. When I first started my company all I was concerned about was getting clients and making money. Around 2017 on LinkedIn, the culture of that social media website was not having it. I was quickly putting in my place and found out that in order to sell you must truly build relationships. I had to start from the bottom, actually getting to know people not just trying to sell them anything.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A Lesson I Had to Unlearn
One of the most important lessons I had to unlearn was this: just because you’re good at one thing doesn’t mean you’ll automatically excel in another.
My journey taught me the value of experimenting and learning through trial and error—figuring out what works and what doesn’t for me.
When I started out, my focus was on helping businesses and individuals market and promote their brands. I never imagined I would end up as a speaker. But through failures, life lessons, and experiences, I realized that success isn’t just about the product or service you offer. It’s about the experience you create.
Customers buy from you because they connect with your story, your authenticity, and your brand.
I’ve come to understand the power of trust—it’s the foundation of every meaningful connection, whether in business or life. In business we’re not just selling a product of service. We’re building relationships helping change peoples lives for the better.This realization changed the way I approach everything I do.
