Hi Blessing, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hey everyone it’s Queen “Blessing” B here! My story is fairly simple. Born in Liberia, West Africa. At age three I was adopted and moved to Washington State. Grew up in Yakima, WA. From a very young age I knew I was created for big things. I always loved music, art, and fashion. But it was not until 2020 did I actually step into my now career of modeling.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
From 2020 up till now. I have learned a lot when it comes to modeling. Like posing, runway, and script reading. Others skills such as, skin-care, networking, and showing up for yourself. It is impotent to remember your worth. Throughout my journey I’ve felt shame and unworthiness. Modeling is something you can’t half-ass. Just like any other career or job. You have to show up. And remember you’re the boss Going into with your whole heart!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Besides modeling. My love for fashion has definitely grown. I dream of having my very own fashion brand.. Another love of mines is content creation. Ever since I was young I enjoyed creating YouTube videos as well as TikToks (which are all very cringy, lol). I never wanted to stop learning and growing. Everyday is an opportunity to grow. Being a successful influencer is definitely a dream of mines. I want to have a brand that inspires and gives people opportunities!
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk is part is a part of the journey. No risk means no growth. I can’t say I have taken very much risks when it comes to my career. Only really gotten into it this year. Other than moving from my small town. That’s probably the biggest risk I’ve taken. I was in a tight spot. Working a job I didn’t like anymore. Felt isolated and fearful. Afraid to be myself. That’s a very real feeling. But I took the risk and moved with little guidance. Now I look back and realize how strong I actually am. Having gone through so much
