When it comes to social media, I focus on keeping it simple in terms of content. I want to be in charge and be able to manage my own ideas. This way is more effective in my opinion. However I find it a little complex since social media is always changing. Read more>>

I work with an amazing team to manage social media for both brands we operate. Le Conte Jewelry, which is under my name, is developed in collaboration with Jamie, our Brand Strategist. The other is HIDDENSPACE Jewelry, which my husband designs and directs. He works with his team, including Pauline and Schulamie, to create beautiful and creative content for the brand. Read more>>

I actually manage my own social media! I am a person who enjoys sharing things and it makes me happy to be able to post and share exactly what we’re accomplishing at the market each month. I think hiring a social media manager is a great option for those who have a larger business or a full time position that takes priority over passion projects. Being a stay at home parent, plus working as a remote office manager part time, plus running the farmers market, and now a new venture, you’d think I didn’t have time to do it all haha. I simply try my best and accomplish what I can. My advice for other small business owners – take pride in your posts, really suss everything out and take your time. Don’t post too often and don’t worry if your following is slower to grow than another’s. Most important of all – do not compare your business to someone else’s; we all have a unique contribution to this world and that’s what makes it beautiful. Read more>>

Social media has been an important tool for my business. Most of my clients find my services through LinkedIn, so I have dedicated a big part of my business strategy to this platform, posting regular content and connecting with potential clients and colleagues. I don’t hire a team to manage my social media. I do it myself because I believe in authenticity. And the result I’ve seen so far is having an engaged audience that knows me better and connects with me on a more personal level. I strongly recommend that business owners manage their own social media accounts rather than hiring a team. While it may seem convenient at first, there are several reasons to manage your accounts personally. For example, your unique voice and perspective are aspects that an external group cannot replicate. Read more>>

1. Do you manage your own social media or have you hired someone or a team/company to manage it? At the moment, I delegate most of my media work to others. I have a manager who handles communication with clients on Instagram, and I also work with a team of targeting specialists who manage my ads and connections. This allows me to maintain my media presence while focusing on creating art and working directly with clients. 2. Why did you make the choice you did? This decision came with time as I realized that managing everything alone was exhausting and impacted the quality of my tattoo work. As a perfectionist, I know that if I tried to do it all, I’d have to study every detail thoroughly to ensure it was done to my standards—but I decided it’s much more effective to delegate media tasks and focus on what I’m best at: creating art and delivering a unique experience for my clients. I manage my own social media because it allows me to stay authentic and true to my brand’s voice. While I have a small following and minimal engagement at the moment, I keep posting consistently with the hope of attracting future clients. Managing it myself also gives me complete creative control, which is essential as a graphic designer showcasing my work. So far, the results have been a slow but steady growth in visibility, and I’ve learned that consistency is key, even when it feels like no one is watching. For other business owners considering whether to manage their own social media or outsource it, I’d recommend evaluating your goals, time, and resources. If you have the capacity, managing it yourself can help you build a genuine connection with your audience. But if time is an issue, hiring help might be worth the investment to stay consistent.
