Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriella Carias

Hi Gabriella, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?

I started off with nothing but a dream. I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I also knew how much i loved the beauty industry, from fashion, down to hair and makeup!!! I knew I would be apart of this amazing industry and be preferably a hairstylist at the age I was but I didn’t know where to begin besides going to school. You can get all the schooling you need but you do you have the tools it takes to create and run a successful business. Prayers, consistency and dedication is what put me where I am today. What made me want to be in the beauty industry was the love and passion I had for making myself and others feel beautiful. If you look good you feel good. It’s definitely a confidence booster and that inspired me to make other people feel the same confidence I would get when my hair was done. The returning clients and continuous positive feedback keeps me going. Ladies and gentlemen remember self care is important, it is a form of self love. Make the time to take care of yourself and appearance. It makes all the difference. If you look good you feel good.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

It hasn’t been a smooth road. I’m
thankful for that because if the road were smooth you wouldn’t appreciate all the good. The challenges we face in business help mold the business. I take all forms of criticism, positive and negative, it’s essential for making necessary adjustments and improvements. Some of the struggles can be : business fluctuating, being everything for your business in 1 when first starting off for example: opening your books, promo, dealing with clients, prepping hair etc, sometimes running into difficult clients who don’t follow your rules and guidelines meaning making your job harder for you. It definitely gets tough, only the strong survive. I always go above and beyond to not only satisfy my clients wants and their needs but to also keep their hair healthy underneath their protective styles. I provide exceptional customer service to each and every client that I have. It’s not easy because if it were everyone would do it.

As you know, we’re big fans of I am Glammed by Gabby & Co.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

I am running a hair business where I provide the hair and the service. I sell really great quality bundles and hair accessories like bonnets, edge wraps etc. Glammedbygabby.co for all your shopping needs and inquiries! I am currently working on my own edge control and tweaking my first drop of irons for improvement. I specialize in natural hair, wigs, and coloring. I am most proud of how I accomplished a lot in such little time. I made this my main priority and made it a career. The experience has been so rewarding. I get to make my own schedule and make great connections with new people.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?

My favorite childhood memory is how every Sunday my mom would comb my hair, bring us to church, my dad would pick me and my brother up, bring us to the store let us pick whatever toy we wanted, bring us home and cook, play good music, get our uniforms out, let us play and just reset for the week. Those were the days and those were the times. My brother would always ask for toys and I always wanted new hair products for my man Ivan he purchased for me and still until this day have the mani can. She’s bald but it’s the memories behind that doll for me. That’s where I started, my roots. I remember in junior high I would have everyone coming by my house after school to let me practice sew ins and pin curls because that’s how determined I was. When I made it to highschool I started charging little next to nothing to continue that until I became bigger and bigger. I never gave up.
