We recently connected with Janay Cash and have shared our conversation below.
Janay, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Yes as a stylist and designer I want to cater to all body types. The fashion industry tends to forget about the “plus size” community the clothing in that category usually looks like it was made from a couch in the 70’s lol! But it’s time for us to embrace all body types and not just the fabrication of society thinks is beautiful!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Janay Cash and I am the CEO of 3BQ DIamond. 3BQ was birthed seven years ago in. Sacramento, CA as a kids line and quickly grew into so much more. We are now getting into our home and self care line. Our goal is to be a brand that not only makes you look good but makes you feel good mentally and physically! This was our goal before the pandemic and now it is our mission because as we all know if we don’t feel good mentally it shows physically and we want our customers to feel good mind, body and soul!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In 2021 I had a couple of events and though they provided the platform for others and us as well as the CEO I was not satisfied. So rebranding and stepping outside of our bubble was completely necessary. We shifted to being more in the media. Building up the brand worldwide was not going to happen until I as the CEO stepped out front. No one can trust the products unless they can see who they are doing business with. This is how Gucci, Versace and so many more became household names. The public saw them and knew them. So this pivot was vital to our brands growth.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The beginning of 2020 was supposed to mark our rebranding and due to COVID shutdown everything shifted and stopped and I had to restart in a way that I never would have considered. This journey to the new 3BQ required a partnership with social media influencers in a whole different state which prompted the relocation that transformed 3BQ going forward
