Currently, I manage my own social media. I manage my own strictly as a way to cut down on costs but I would love to someday be able to hire someone to manage it for me. So far I’ve had mixed results from my own social media marketing. Some things I thought would be successful have been total flops and others have surprised me. I currently manage my own social media because I enjoy the creativity and planning that it entails. One thing I didn’t realize until I started my own business is that managing social media can really be a big and ongoing job at times. It’s important that people/potential clients can get a really good understanding of who you are and what unique value you provide just by looking at your page. If spending a few hours a week planning, recording, and writing captions is something that you have time for, I highly recommend it. I enjoy the creative process of content creation. On the other end of that, if you’re someone who doesn’t have a ton of time for social media and spend most if not all of your time time for your business in other ways, it may be better to hire someone else to manage social media.
