Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Grayson Sebert Antreassian. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Grayson Sebert, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My mother has made the largest positive impact on me in my life, and most likely will continue to make an impact on me throughout my career and personal endeavors. She instilled in me courage, kindness, compassion, ambition, drive, and determination. With her guidance I know I can get the job done, and do it well, and I know that I’ll always have someone on my side cheering me on through all times, blissful and challenging. She encouraged me to audition for The University of Utah’s Actor Training Program, and helped me put together my audition materials. Gratefully, I was accepted, and I learned so much during my schooling at that institution, all thanks to my mother’s words of encouragement. She has also encouraged me and supported me in so many ways in the world of film, as she played many key roles in the creation of my first short film, The Master (2022). Without her assistance, my film may not have the recognition it has today, and for her hard work I am incredibly thankful. (She will also be helping me with my next film project, Effervescence (2025), and I am so excited to see how it turns out!) When it comes down to it, my relationship with my mother is the most important thing to me in life, next to my passion for the arts, and I sincerely hope that she and I will continue to have a fruitful relationship full of love and adventure.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an actor, director, writer and poet. I am the founder of the budding film studio, Lycanthrope Studios, based in Ohio, and am the creator of the horror short film, The Master (2022), which has been recognized at several American film festivals and which has received high acclaim. I am also a published poet in Silent Sparks Press (2022), which features my poem titled “The Angel”. Finally, I am signed to Helen Wells Agency out of Columbus, Ohio where I work as a professional actor for film. Admittedly, I am still in the beginning stages of my arts career and am still shaping my brand and what I offer to the world, though one thing is for certain– making art, especially the nitty gritty art that provokes loudly, is my utmost passion and purpose in this world, and I will never stop pursuing my craft nor sharing it with others. If I can create some sort of cathartic or invigorating experience for only one person, my work has been realized. I am most proud of The Master (2022), as its recognition has opened up several connections for me in the indie film world and beyond. I plan to release my next film, Effervescence (2025) in the upcoming year, which follows a similar story as my first film. I further my education through the Los Angeles Film School in their Screenwriting program, and am extremely excited to see where my arts career takes me. What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Making people FEEL– whatever emotion or experience it is that they have from my art makes it all the worthwhile. I want to be the change I want to see in the world and I want to tell daring, bold stories that provoke, inspire, and even transform others and the current market. Although I am still in the beginning stages of my career, I have already had so many experiences through acting, poetry and film that have made my mission realized. As an actor, I have gratefully encouraged the release of emotion and escapism for several people who have viewed my work, providing them both entertainment and something unique to view and dissect through their own lens. Through film I have presented something original and different from the current landscape, provoking viewers with my artistry in ways both audacious and alluring. In poetry, I have most certainly made people feel with my work, as my writing is usually on the more intense side of the spectrum. For all of the accolades I have received from people who have been kind enough to compliment me, I am eternally thankful for their support of my vision and creation.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The most major lesson I have learned so far in the arts world is that I cannot do everything on my own– it’s impossible if I want high quality product. For example, my first short film. Going into the project I initially thought that I’d be able to do the entire thing on my own, without the assistance of anyone, for the purpose of executing my vision that way I wanted it to be done. Quickly, though, I admittedly realized that this way of thinking is prideful, as the further I went along with my project without help, the messier it was becoming. Humbled by this realization, I put together a team of people, notably friends and family, to help me with filming, writing and gathering props for my film. The end result of collaboration was gorgeous and in the end my film turned out well, especially regarding the minuscule equipment we used to put it together (for example, the voiceover audio was recored with a $20 microphone, and the film itself was filmed entirely with an iPhone). I’m glad that I made this discovery, as collaboration and a team of creative individuals is essential in creating a solid project. In the future, I will continue practicing this method and plan to seek assistance whenever I need it, always with an open mind.
