We were lucky to catch up with Roni Amrich recently and have shared our conversation below.
Roni, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
As a small business owner, I’m always looking for ways to make our studio stand out from the rest. One major way we differentiate ourselves is by incorporating Trapeze Yoga into our mix of classes. While traditional yoga is incredible for moving your body, reducing pain, and increasing mobility and longevity, it lacks a crucial element—pull. Most yoga classes involve a lot of pushing movements, but our bodies need pulling motions to achieve balance. That’s where the trapeze comes in.
With the trapeze, we offer a unique way to use body weight to strengthen and target both individual muscles and the whole body. It’s versatile, making poses more challenging for advanced yogis, while also providing support to make yoga more accessible to beginners or those with mobility challenges.
But the trapeze is more than just a fitness tool—it’s a fun way to work out. You’re flipping upside down, moving your body in ways you’re not used to, and most of your time is spent figuring out where to put your feet rather than worrying about how challenging the moves are. This keeps people coming back again and again!
The trapeze is also an amazing tool for reducing and even eliminating back pain. The traction it provides allows the spine to decompress, promoting better blood flow and delivering healing nutrients to the spinal discs. This is crucial for maintaining a healthy spine and aiding in the recovery of injured spines.
At our studio, it’s not just about working out—it’s about having fun, finding joy in movement, and helping people feel better in their bodies. That’s what makes us different, and it’s why our students love coming back week after week.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Roni Amrich, and I’ve dreamed of owning my own business since I was 12 years old. It wasn’t a straightforward journey—I spent over 15 years learning how to manage teams of salespeople before finally deciding to strike out on my own. Yoga has been a significant part of my life for many years, and the first time I practiced in a yoga studio, I knew: THIS is what I want to do. I fell in love with the environment, the people, and the sense of peace it brought, and I wanted to share that feeling with the world!
That dream led to the creation of Good Moodra Yoga, a unique yoga studio offering both mat yoga and trapeze yoga. We’re the only trapeze yoga studio in Orange County, and the buzz around it has been incredible!
The journey began in October 2019 when I formed the business, secured the lease, and started building out the studio in December of that year. I wasn’t initially sure about adding Trapeze Yoga because it required a huge investment for the equipment and structural support. But I decided to go for it, believing it would attract new students and set us apart from other studios in the area.
I quit my full-time job in March 2020, planning to open on April 1. But then COVID hit, and that dream came to a sudden halt. I finally managed a soft opening in July, only to have to close a week later. After a series of openings, closings, and attempts to adapt with outdoor yoga, we fully reopened on February 27th, 2021. Since then, we’ve found our space and become the space I initially envisioned when planning almost a year and a half prior!
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built at Good Moodra Yoga. The trapeze classes are fun and exhilarating, and they’ve been a big draw. But it’s more than that—I’m attracting people who are looking for community and acceptance. We focus on finding poses that feel best for each person’s body, creating a space where minds can feel refreshed and energized. It’s a place where everyone feels safe and nurtured while being challenged to live healthier lifestyles and have fun along the way!
My ultimate goal is to share yoga with my community in a safe, judgment-free space. Mat yoga has been my passion and has personally helped me navigate family challenges, a divorce, and find a path to a more peaceful, gratitude-filled life. I see that Trapeze Yoga adds an element of fun and excitement, drawing in people from all walks of life, even those who have never tried yoga before. Once they experience the benefits of Trapeze Yoga, they often want to explore the many benefits of traditional Mat Yoga too!
Building a community feel isn’t just for our students; it’s also for my team. I work hard to create a supportive environment for my employees, offering regular one-on-one feedback, attending their classes to show support, and organizing team events and lunches. I keep them informed about changes and goals so they feel part of something bigger and enjoy working here. My vision is to be a place where my team feels valued, supported, and able to earn a living doing what they love. As we grow, adding more classes will make this even more of a reality!
Being the only Trapeze Yoga studio in Orange County sets us apart, but that’s just the beginning. I want everyone who walks in to feel great immediately. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the attentive instructors ready to guide each class, to the cozy space where friends—old and new—can share a cup of tea and a snack before or after class, every detail is about fostering a sense of community.
To create this environment, I’ve carefully hired and trained a friendly, caring staff who prioritize our students and offer helpful feedback to strengthen their practice. Every instructor is also trained in Trapeze Yoga, a 30-hour commitment, to ensure they can seamlessly teach both mat and Trapeze Yoga. If anyone isn’t bringing the right energy to keep our students feeling safe and connected, I’m quick to provide feedback and make the necessary adjustments.
I’m dedicated to getting Good Moodra Yoga’s name out there, using every marketing tool available—from social media and Google ads to signs outside the studio, flyers, business-to-business networking, community events, and chamber of commerce partnerships. I’m committed to working every angle to fill our classes and strengthen our community connections.
Good Moodra Yoga isn’t just a studio; it’s a place where you can find joy, community, and a healthier, happier life.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what helped me build my reputation within my market is the community by far. While the trapeze is a huge draw, the community of instructors and students is truly what sets us apart. Instead of feeling intimidated and nervous about their first class, everyone makes the students feel at home.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The first year in business I was closed almost the whole time due to government orders. Then once we opened it was still a skeleton of a business, where we had to max out classes at 6 per class, had to have social distancing in place, clean meticulously, and invest in an air purification system to reduce fear of coming to classes at a new studio in the midst of a global pandemic. So in truth, my first two years open were huge losses. I liquidated savings, maxed out credit cards, and sold my house to fund what I knew in my heart would be a thriving business once the pandemic was no longer a threat. This was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do.
