We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

The mission statement for my brand is “Making You Feel Beautiful”. The purpose behind this is to encourage and uplift each client I encounter, helping them gain more confidence after every session. I truly believe that each individual is unique and handcrafted by God. In Genesis 1:27, the scripture states “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Read more>>

I have always loved working with children and discovered my passion for teaching about 10+ years ago while volunteering as an assistant teacher in a 2nd grade classroom. It was something I loved about seeing a child understand something new that I taught them. I was in awe of how I could be a part of a child’s growth without having any children of my own yet. From my experience, much of school structures are about students primarily cognitive development. That focus previously worked, but it is no longer working with our current population of children. More and more children are experiencing anxiety, low self-worth, high levels of stress, and depression. Sadly, for some children, this has been their norm for most of their lived experience. EH Exchange recognizes this and wants to be part of the healing process through our support and resources. Read more>>

STEMedia’s mission is deeply personal to me, inspired by my father’s journey. My journey began in 11th grade when my father suggested engineering. I secured a NASA internship and loved it, leading to my master’s and PhD. Interestingly, my father started engineering in college but didn’t finish due to a federal job opportunity and lack of community support. I stayed in engineering, but I saw many of my classmates not stay in the field as well. Read more>>

The mission of #TalksWithTina is to facilitate a healing journey that leads you back to the cross, back to Jesus. It would be remiss of me to not share how my personal healing journey started. After being in a serious situationship, I found myself in this place knowing that it needed to end, while also trying to grasp what void I was trying to fill by being with this person. Leaving this relationship wasn’t the end of my life, but truthfully it felt like a gut-wrenching end to something! Read more>>

There are 50 million people living in modern slavery. 1 in 4 are children. Less than 1% of them are ever identified, so even less receive the necessary care they need. Global efforts aren’t keeping up with the rise of modern slavery and exploitation. Without data about what really works, efforts are ineffective, inefficient, and disjointed. What’s more, our work is survivor-centered: we listen to how survivors define freedom and how they prioritize their needs, because—historically— even well-intentioned efforts in the sector take agency away from survivors. For so long, accounting and finance has been untouchable for anyone that’s not an accountant. There was a time, early in my career, that I would tell you the industry actually prided themselves on this fact. Accountants stay in business and necessary because nobody else understands it.
