Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Coach Ablaza. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Coach, thanks for joining us today. Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
Yes, I have been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work, but it certainly wasn’t like that from day one. My journey began during the pandemic when I lost my job. It was a challenging time, but I was excited to take the leap and become a full-time entrepreneur.
In the beginning, it was tough because I didn’t know what type of business to start. I initially ventured into selling clothes, but quickly realized it wasn’t for me—I didn’t sell many clothes because I simply didn’t enjoy it. This period of trial and error was crucial for my growth.
A significant turning point for me was implementing the Rule of 5 to work on my mindset daily. This practice helped me cultivate a positive and growth-oriented mindset. Understanding and refining my mindset was a game-changer and laid the foundation for my future success. The Rule of 5 is to 1. Pray /Meditate 2. Read 3. Listen to audio teachings 4. Write/review your dreams and goals 5. Exercise.
Looking back, what could have sped up the process was knowing my target audience and focusing on what I love to do. Finding my passion and understanding who I wanted to serve were pivotal steps. It’s all been a journey, and I am grateful for every part of it because it built my character.
Now, I am a full-time creative brand director and coach. I help businesses with their branding and teach graphic design, websites, sales funnels, email marketing, and automations. Additionally, I am a full-time motivational speaker, studying under my mentor, Les Brown. I have a brand called Pretty Girls Don’t Work where I coach female entrepreneurs how to work smarter and not harder.
The journey was filled with challenges and learning experiences, but it ultimately led me to a fulfilling and impactful career. Knowing what I know now, understanding my audience and pursuing my passions from the start would have made a significant difference. Nonetheless, every step of the journey has been invaluable.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Coach Ablaza, a seasoned branding specialist and motivational speaker. My passion for growth began at an early age and was further nurtured through my education at an HBCU. I specialize in branding for female entrepreneurs and motivational speaking, helping women build their brands and ascend to new heights in life and business.
My journey into the branding industry began in 2021 when I attended a branding event held by Annetta Powell. That class was a pivotal moment for me—I realized that branding and social media coaching were my true passions. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with diverse clients, from startups to established brands, providing branding services to businesses that either lack branding or need to rebrand.
My work is characterized by a keen eye for detail and an innovative approach, constantly staying ahead of emerging trends to ensure my work remains cutting-edge. I’m a constant learner, always looking to improve and stay current in my field. This dedication is something my clients deeply appreciate, often complimenting my consistency and dedication to serving my purpose.
What sets me apart from others is my unwavering commitment to my purpose and the consistent effort I put into my work. I start my days at 5 am with a five-mile run, followed by mindset work, ensuring I bring the best version of myself to my clients each day.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building over 100 brands in the marketplace. This accomplishment is a testament to the impact and value I strive to bring to each client.
For potential clients and followers, I want them to know that my work goes beyond just branding—it’s about empowering women to realize their full potential and achieve success in both life and business. With mentors like Les Brown, Annetta Powell, Dr. Myron Golden, Dontell Antonio, and Stormy Wellington guiding me, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. My goal is to help women build their brands and reach their next level with confidence and clarity.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped build my reputation with my market was consistency, great results and testimonials from my clients.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
What demonstrates my resilience is, there was a time where my bank account was in the negative and I had a choice to make, go back to a regular job or keep fighting in my business. I have 3 kids so this decision was a very important decision for me. I decided to keep fighting in my business and God kept sending me new clients, returning clients and referrals.
