We recently connected with Kat Romett and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kat, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Kat Romett is a Licensed Reflexology Practitioner, musician, & mother of 2 boys. She, and her family currently reside in Montgomery County, PA. Through her journey with parenting a child with special needs, Kat has learned the importance of self care & holistic health.
She sees the benefits reflexology has in creating peace in the body, which in turn creates peace in stress-filled environments. Kat has a special interest in caring for caretakers in various fields, as well women who handle stress on a daily basis.
As she grew her Reflexology practice, she than started creating magnesium herbal foot creams and soaks for those experiencing stress on a daily basis.
Her heart and mission includes CARING for the CAREGIVER by implementing recovery through the feet in her practice and products.

Kat, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For me, it all comes back to being a mom. I have two boys, one with more extensive needs. Through the difficulties and extreme stress that comes with needing a caregiver, I got to a place where I least all the feeling in the left side of my body.
While I was going to various doctors, chiropractors, and more, a common theme of me being in “extreme chronic stress” came through.
I was shocked stress could cause such physical responses in my body. I than thought, “If I’m dealing with this, how many other women and caregivers are as well”.
It made me think back to what had been helpful for me in the midst of the constant cycle I was in. I realized bodywork was one of the most helpful in difficult times. When you’re getting worked on, you don’t have to have the answers, you are just in a place of receiving care and stress relief. This in itself can be so healing to a caregiver.
Reflexology is very practical and noninvasive, as you only take your shoes and socks off. It’s also very mobile, which really drew me to the profession. I was also very excited, as I could go to school to be trained, while my kids were in school, which worked for my schedule.
Many of the people who come into my office are looking for ways to feel peace and calm in a tangible way. Many times stress can get “stuck” in our bodies and it’s very hard to know how to get out of stress mode when we get so used to living this way.
I’m grateful to be working on other women, mother’s and caregivers since I understand the need to feel calm and how difficult it can be to find it when you are constantly handling the urgencies of those around you.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building a presence on social media is a constant learning curve and it’s always changing.
It can many times hell like you’re throwing spaghetti on the wall and seeding what sticks.
My biggest advice for those building a social media presence is always document when you’re doing ANYTHING related to your business or non profit.
People like to see that you are busy and being effective in what you do.
Don’t look down small beginnings. Using what’s in your hand than stewarding those small achievements is so healthy.
Don’t always look at what you’re competition is doing when you’re getting vulnerable. It can be very deflating and not helpful.
Also, learn to encourage yourself and do not rely on others to build you up.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
For me, I started very small and grew it from there. As my Reflexology business grew, I was able to create my magnesium herbal Stresscare business. Again starting very small and slowly growing with my experience.
