We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lia Davidson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I manage my own social media platforms. In the past, I worked as a content creator. I’m super creative, therefore, I loved working with clients creating content for their business. Now, I do it for myself and through that job I learnt so much on branding and how to engage with followers. Whats fun is I got to do it for other peoples vision but now I get to come up with my own branding and produce content under my own vision.
The best advise I could give to creating content for social media is to find your niche. Once you’ve established your branding, content will come naturally and feel like second nature!

Lia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I love travelling & food! So hand in hand i travel for food! All jokes aside… I started my food page for fun @thehungryher. I was always everyones go to restaurant recommendation gal or everyone would rely on me to book reservations in other cities. Good Food makes me happy so with all the places I was discovering, I decided to start food blogging the restaurants I would go to. It was a great way to finally make my pictures of good use! I’m proud at my consistency of looking for restaurants and capturing all the deliciousness. My content varies per the city i travel in such as Montreal, Canada (my hometown), New York City, Boston, Vancouver, Miami, and more !

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
In my case i connected with a lot of people who were posting content i was going to be posting about. Wether that was other people who were food blogging from the cities i was travelling to or all kinds of different restaurants I either visited or was Planning to on the near future. Whatever type of content you’re planning on posting, I would follow similar people who have a the same interest!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Consistent posts and engagement! Always post stories, IG reels and content. People love to be consistent in what they see
