Kindness begets kindness. So, wanted to create a space to share and amplify stories of kindness with the hope that it inspires a chain reaction.

I have a friend, Daniel Fishel, who I affectionately refer to as “Illustration Dad.” We met in 2019 when we had both been invited to a creative roundtable for an episode of Working Not Working’s Overshare Podcast. I was less than a year out of college and had major imposter syndrome sitting amongst Daniel, Ping Zhu, and Marly Gallardo, who all had established careers. In the episode, I was candid about my inexperience as a recent grad and how it was hard to break into the industry. Read more>>

Stay when I was telling my truth. I have found myself always living within the confines of performance, hoping that my authenticity would shine above that. I noticed that when I shared my light, they did not want my truth. I found myself in conditional spaces… you ever feel what its like to be invited to a space you weren’t welcome? I noticed that there are very few people that stay when you show your truth, and wanted to hide under your light. It was meaningful to see who stayed when it got hard for me. Read more>>

The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was to see something in me worth investing in—whether it was their time, energy, wisdom, or care. The kindness shown to me holds special significance because of the adversity I faced growing up and how it would mold me. I didn’t have a strong support system or the guidance needed to navigate the world. This left me feeling unprepared, insignificant, and often lost in my efforts. Despite the challenges this created, I continued to strive even though the path wasn’t clear. Because I kept moving forward, I was fortunate to encounter incredible individuals who stepped in at pivotal moments. These remarkable people recognized my potential, even when I couldn’t see it myself. They showed up for me in ways that were unexpected and deeply impactful, always with my highest good in mind. The kindest thing anyone’s ever done for me came from my wife—long before she was my wife. When I was just starting as a photographer, my career was far from stable. I had a lot of ambition but not much else. She believed in me anyway. Her kindness wasn’t just in emotional support—she rolled up her sleeves and became part of my journey. With her incredible eye for design, she helped me create setups that wowed clients and guided couples to pick outfits that brought their vision to life. And while doing all that, she was building her o
wn business and providing for us. Read more>>

The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was telling me that I couldn’t do something. Earlier in my life, this is mostly what I heard inside my home and at school. At the time, it was debilitating and dictating and forged a series of clear paths to ‘can’t and won’t’ mentality that dominated my actions and assisted me in making poor decisions and achieving terrible results. I was relegated to listening to the negative as the proper narrative of my life, as I knew nothing different, and assumed this was my path until, through the course of introspective evaluation, I was able to break free of these chains and work towards making the important and life-altering site-adjustment of turning a “can’t and won’t” mantra in to “CAN and WILL” reality mindset, which marked the beginning of an important life and business journey that I have been on since this adjustment. I harbored anger and resentment for many years to those who impeded my path initially with the malice of their words and actions, however over the years have come to realize that they – in fact – blessed me with the greatest gift I could have ever asked for by doing so, as without this experience, I would not be in the position with the values, achievements and understanding I have today. Most recently my friends Yannis Pappas and Chris Distefano who were guests on the Joe Rogan show gave me a shout out on the platform. I was listening to the episode while driving my Fiat with my dog Koda (Cane Corso) in the back seat drooling over my shoulder. I’m Puerto Rican but my name, car and dog are Italian, ha! I’m a boxing instructor and Comedian. There was a time I was apprehensive about sharing to comedy audiences that I was a trainer. I felt as if I wouldn’t be taken seriously. That has since changed. I have embraced that I am a teacher and a stand up comic. I enjoy doing both. One does not define me. I also have the liberty to do both of them on my terms. So, hearing my name being shouted out on one of the biggest podcasts by some of my closest friends and be described as both comic and a boxing instructor was not only gratifying but I also felt selfless, generous on my friends part. It is without a doubt one of the most recent, kindest gestures I have received recently in the field of work i’m in. Read more>>

Mr. Rami Malek is a very busy man. He has toured as a drummer world wide. He makes drum heads for living, has a loving family, and is adept at voice training. He’s the reason why we are so adept at songwriting. He challenged us to write a song every day and send it to him. Each time we sent a song, he gave us pointers. Just because he believed in our craft and ability to create. He gave Max pointers on how to sing from their diaphragm, helped Chase with melody skills and gave the band as whole discipline in writing music. We are extremely grateful for the time he invested in our band. Read more>>

As a child, I received incredible support from both my parents and my next door neighbors who were surrogate grandparents. I was raised in a household that valued learning, culture, personal development, travel and the exchange of ideas and free thought. My neighbors Marge and Bill were of a similar mindset and were extremely supportive and respectful of me and my three younger siblings. My family spent many holidays with Marge and Bill and as children we ran down a path through the hedges that separated our two houses! Read more>>

The Kindest Thing Someone Has Ever Done for Me After college, I spent a year living in Oxford, England, before moving to Denver for a few years. Denver was a time of adventure and growth, and I was lucky to have an incredible group of friends who made every moment unforgettable. One of our favorite pastimes was cruising around on mopeds—it was our thing. At the time, I was working as a barista at Starbucks, saving every penny I could to buy a candy apple red Honda Metropolitan moped. It was my pride and joy. One morning, as I stepped outside to head to a nearby café, I realized my moped was gone. Stolen. I was absolutely devastated. Read more>>

I was going to Washington, DC on a regular basis as a function of my job duties. I would regularly visit the only coin shop in DC. The owner, Nelson Whitman, would keep the shop open for me and spend as much time with me as I needed to look at all his treasures, Nelson was well into his 70s when I started visiting his shop, and I am sure he was tired after working all day, and facing a commute in the DC area. He taught me many valuable lessons to help me become a coin dealer, and even bought things from me for resale, probably paying a bit more than he should have to help me get started. While I appreciated the kindness he extended to me, I also learned from the kind way he treated all his customers. Nelson is still going strong at 87 years old and serves as an inspiration to me. The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me was to lead me to GOD, and the person GOD used for this task was my mom. In 2018, my mom got baptized and fully gave her life to GOD. After doing so, she began growing spiritually and sharing what she learned (from her walk with GOD) with me. This is a gift I deeply cherish, because if GOD hadn’t used my mom to help transform my life, I would be lost in the world, growing more and more distant from HIM. However, the process of her leading me to GOD WAS NOT EASY AT ALL. There were many times along this journey when we struggled, got discouraged, or felt overwhelmed. This was due to me “not getting it” or having a hard time surrendering. Read more>>

One of the most meaningful acts of kindness in my life happened unexpectedly during a challenging time in my career. After closing my first shop in Belarus, I started working from home, trying to rebuild my business through Instagram. It wasn’t easy, and I often felt unsure about the future. Everything changed during International Women’s Day. Suddenly, I started getting more calls and orders than ever before. Clients kept mentioning they had seen my bouquets online, but I had no idea where. Eventually, I found out that a popular local platform had featured my work in an article about where to buy flowers for the holiday. Read more>>
